Kendrick Perkins has turned down an extension offer of $30 million over four years from the Celtics.

Perkins, represented by agent Arn Tellem, has opted to wait until he is an unrestricted free agent.

marc gasol just got crossed off the list after averaging one rebounds per game in his last 2 games (cavs and rockets), boo hoo. but a prototypical big black guy just got added when perkins rejected the 30mil extension, woo woo. i dont think he'll have any problems recovering from his injury, he can do that with boston for the remainder of the season. then play at full strength next season with houston maybe :dontknow:

we would have to throw him alot of money!

he rejected $30 million from Boston to test the market because he knows centers can come off with a big payday. and if he can get a lot of money and be with a contender he will probably opt for that option. I think he will likely get his money in Boston (unless the rumors of Boston going for Dwight in 2012 is true).

he's stupid
30m for 4yrs is probably the best he will get
facing possible lockout and a new cba rule next season
no one is going to give him more than 10m/yrs just playing defense
unless he's willing to take less and play for miami

he's what we desperately need. you think there's a big difference between him and nene, meka, chandler? they're all the same to me, each w/ their own intangibles some better than other, but overall on the same level.

I can see OKC going for him, NYC as well but if they get Melo they won't be able to afford him. Toronto should also give him a look. Then there's us.

Do we go after the better passer (Gasol) or the better defender (Perkins)

no we are not, theyre saying that cuz it's the right thing to do i guess, but they cant throw big money at him again. i dont mind a small deal. if we wanna be contenders we have to go over cap like every other contender

$10 milllion per year avg is very realistic for Kendrick Perkins. He has a reputation of being one of the best post defender in the NBA. and we all know the scale for centers are higher due to the lack of talented ones. Tyson Chandler is in his final year of his contract at $12 million. Anderson Varejao was signed to a 6 year $50 million deal. I would not at all be surprised if a team throws Perkins a contract around the ballpark of 5 years $45 million - $50 million.

:sour:

10 mill a season for him is kind of ridiculous. If you think Marc Gasol is a poor rebounder......

Look at perkin. His career rebounding number looks like they belong to Eddy Curry.

(don't think anyone want curry)

8 rpg in less than 30mpg is pretty good
especially when you look at garnett, pierce, rondo all are good rebounder at their position

He's only managed 8 rebounds per game ONE time in his career.(this year doesn't count. Not enough minutes)

Kendrick is one of those guys who thinks he is really really good but is actually a bum. What a moron for turning down that kind of money.

I want no part of Kelvin Cato part duece. He'll get exposed once he doesn't 3 good and 1 great guys playing with him.

Stay far far away from that man.
