Thabeet wont play. Gragic will backup Lowry.
The only question is who starts at SF? My money is on Budinger.
Who backs up budinger? Terrence Williams? Or give Courtney Lee SF minutes? I'm betting on the latter

I hope that Morey is on a conference call with Dream & Deke asking them what it would take to bring them in to mentor Thabeet, Hill & Patterson.

i like dragic alot
i know thabeet is a project, but i like him and the fact that we finally have a big 7'3'' black guy that blocks shots.....AND we have a good mentor in milller, hopefully morey convinces hakeem to come help him this summer
are both picks this for this year's draft?

I'm liking what went down. We got Thabeet who is a young, shot blocking center that can be a good fit for our team. He might not amount to anything, but Battier is not in our future plans anyway so I'd rather take a gamble on someone than stay put and let Shane walk. We also got a first rounder out of this which could prove to be valuable.
I've always liked Dragic's game. I haven't seen him play this season, but from what I saw last year he's an athletic, big, solid shooting point guard with a lot of potential and room for improvement. He's already a good backup in this league and could amount to something more if given playing time. He's also 6'4" and can play some SG if we need.
New Rockets Lineup -
PG - Lowry (32) Dragic (16)
SG - Martin (24) Lee (20) Dragic (4)
SF - Budinger (24) Martin (8) Williams (16)
PF - Scola (32) Patterson (16)
C - Hayes (24) Miller (12) Hill (12)
12th man: Thabeet.
Now that Battier is gone, we can finally get some more time for our young guys like Budinger, Lee, and Williams. Will we be better off? Not necessarily, but at least we're transitioning from a mediocre stagnant team to a squad with some potential for the future.

also i just read that ish smith will go to memphis
The Rockets made major changes to their roster at the trade deadline, sending Shane Battier and Ish Smith to Memphis for Hasheem Thabeet and a first-round pick, and Aaron Brooks to Phoenix for Goran Dragic and another pick, according to persons close to the deals.

Hi congrats on getting Dragic. I'm from Slovenia and saw a lot of his games and you guys are underrating him. He has a chance to be something special. Sure he is not there yet but he has a good chance of being a above average starter in this league. He excels when the game is on the line and plays with heart. I'm sure that before the start of the next season he is a starter here. Once you will do some research on him you will like this trade more and more. I'm happy for him that he goes to a team like Houston, that has good tradition and reputation. This was an excellent move by your GM. Dragon era has begun.

Suns fan here. As much grief as I'm going through right now, I still feel that I should post what you guys should expect from Dragic aka Dragon aka Dragician.
First of all, Dragic does have some pretty good guard instincts. Imagine a Ginobili / Nash hybrid. Of course that is the best case scenario. His moves are raw and yet very crafty. The 3 pointer is somewhat inconsistent though. But then he's really a slasher so you don't really have to worry about him jacking uP a contested 3 out of nowhere.
He plays with a lot of heart and hustle. A pretty solid defender as well.
One of the biggest factors which attributed to his success last year is his confidence. Whether or not he gets consistent playing time will be key to his development. I also blame his inconsistency this year on his inconsistent play tine.
My verdict: no first round picks should have been involved. You guys straight up robbed us of him.
I wish him nothing short of success in Houston. Hope you guys will enjoy him as much as we did.
