If Adelman goes...

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Fri Feb 25, 2011 2:14 pm

Been seeing/hearing a lot of comments that Rick Adelman is not a lock to return as our Head Coach next season. If that is the case, which coaching candidate do you see as being the best fit for this team as they are assembled now?

No idea, but definitely not JVG.

Ideally I'd like Adelman to stay but I woudn't mind a young guy.

Someone like Frank Vogel or Mike Budenholzer. Maybe Brad Stevens.

I'd consider SVG, should he get fired in Orlando, though he runs a pretty crappy offense.

Other guys I DO NOT WANT:

Mike Brown
Mark Jackson
Bill Laimbeer
Dwayne Casey
Jack Sickma
Sam Cassell

Add Patrick Ewing, Sam Mitchell, Reggie Theus, Lawrence Frank and Maurice Cheeks to the list I don't want to see anywhere near this team.

Not sure about Elston Turner. Got mixed feelings about the guy.

The more I think about it the more I like Mike Budenholzer. He'd probably be my first, second and third choice.

No idea about head coach, but what about Cassell and Elie as Assistants? Mario might even be ready for a head coaching gig, I dunno.

Ideally, someone who's a former player and has a track record of working with young guys.

i'd rather keep adelman forever cuz he's a **** good coach lol, cmon. unless he wants to coach a playoff team or contender, we should keep him.

judging from his history
you know he hates losing and he hates coaching rebuilding team
we are rebuilding now
so ... unlikely he will stay

I do know that I would like to see Mario Elle on the bench as an assistant coach but not to sure about him as a head coach.
1. A up start
2. Someone from a winning franchise.
3. Been an assistant for a good amount of time
4. Believes in defense
5. Someone that is believe he deserves a shot but not just from his head coach but all around the NBA community.
Wishes Thibodeau was still an assistant

well i gave the suggestion to promote him as head coach
too bad morey didn't visit this forum
anyone think brian shaw can do the job?
for me, the coach doesn't have to be from winning franchise or been assistant for long time or believe in defense
i just don't want a stubborn head coach
i want one that will listen to other and can adjust
i read an article earlier this year about pop
reason why san antonio won more game this year is because he changed
he no longer sit player down when you made a mistake
he allows more freedom instead of keep running his playbook plays
i believe we need coach that will allow young players to play and make mistake
cause you learn from your mistake
we can't have a stubborn coach for rebuiding

so adelman, jvg, svg are out
i do have a feeling it will be adelman again
not rick adelman but rick junior his son r.j. adelman

Give Elston Turner a shot, or perhaps Lawrence Frank

Adelman is probably gonna recommend Turner when he steps down anyways

Tom Thibodeau.

Buyout Steve Kerr and make him Rockets head coach. Then start Goran Dragic at PG.

You will have Kerr, the biggest Dragic supporter, running the show. Kerr was the single person pushing most for the drafting of Dragic. Once he left Phx, Suns did not believe in Dragic.
