Portland Trade Proposal

Post#1 » by riehldeal » Wed May 18, 2011 3:26 pm

Houston gets: Nic Batum and Patty Mills

Portland gets: Goran Dragic and either the 14 or 23 pick

thoughts/comments? which pick would be available in such a trade?

i would do it for the dragic and the 23rd but not the 14th.
batum is a better than budinger and would be a starter
dragic won't be as long as lowry is here

No need for Patty mills but a TPE and the 23rd for Batum.

Batum is not worth a lottery pick. Good player but that is all he is which means just another role player

Yeah, I'd do TPE & #23 for Batum.

He's a starting-caliber small forward and he's only 22 years old.

He's a much better defender than Chase.

He had a 31 pt, 7 rebound, 7 ast, 3 steal game vs Minnesota

He hit a game winning layup vs the Spurs

He is not a star in the making and those two acts do not make someone a star. Whats that saying? Sun shines on a dogs a$$ everyday. Not saying he is a dog just saying everybody has game that make them look better. So I repeat he is another role player.

But if you want to throw Budinger in there then you can. Portland could use Bundinger more then they need Batum since they have Wallace

Because Minny is loaded with defensive stoppers and great talent

Budinger had a 35 point, 6 rebound, 4 assist, 2 steals game againt Minnesota.

Larry Bird v2 I think.

i think batum can/will develop into one of the better defenders in the league. not only that he is capable offensively. but as of right now he's not and i would be hesitant to trade dragic away.

According to this Batum is one of the worst defenders in the league. Even worse than Kevin Martin .

I'd probably do #23 for Batum, but I never got the hype he got. He's a role player.

wow really... that list looks pretty legit except for thabo being extremely low and gerald wallace being low. ray allen being up so high does makes sense, not necessarily that he is a lock down defender but the fact that boston is a good team defensively as a whole.

i don't know, i guess i may be overrating batum's defense along with other people.

lol
the point different is misleading
cause lebron always score more than the player he's guarding
bogans can't score
anyway i still think batum's defense is just avg

Dragic + 23rd for Batum + Mills, yes please

Dragic is gonna be a FA next years so we might lose him for nothing anyways, I'm sure he'd want to be a starting PG somewhere. As much as I like Goran, how many mins can he possibly see with Lowry starting? Why not get a starting caliber 3 with our ~20 min backup?

We'll have good role players to complement an impact player with Lowry, Lee, Batum, Pat. Bud would just be a liability on a contending team.

Because, AB--I mean no offense when I say this--Dragic realized he was a backup PG, not a starter. Just like Lowry did the year before. He got a chance to showcase his skills when Lowry was out the last three games, did a fantastic job. We can run a PG-by-platoon again, and as long as his ego stays in check, we're good to go.

Keep Dragic!

you always look to upgrade
pg position is too important
with the way lowry is playing
you will see him injured from time to time (hate to say it)
we definitely need dragic for one more year and see how much he can improve

Which is why Mills is included in the trade. I like Dragic, thats why I think Dragic will bolt next year, either for a starting role or more $$

I'm not a fan of Batum's game.
