What would it take to get K-Mart

Post#1 » by Kazuya10 » Tue May 24, 2011 5:05 am

Bulls fan here

I dont know how good a trading partner we are, or what you guys would be looking for. But i was wonder what would it take for us to take Kevin Martin off your hands. A combination of short contracts plus picks? An impact player

Martin to Bulls for Omer Asik, Ronnie Brewer and CJ Watson

Asik is our starting center
Brewer backs up Lee and Budinger
CJ Watson backs up Lowry and Dragic
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

You oughta be stripped of your Houston Rocket fanhood just for that post alone.

You act like I said trade Olajuwon.
I just think Courtney Lee is a better starting shooting guard than Martin.
and Asik has shown he has potential to be a good starting center.
Watson and Brewer can be good bench role players.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

No you did not but the Bulls make out like bandits. A possible starting center and 2 role players is laughable. The Bulls don't even have a pick high draft picks to even it out.

C'mon now. All those trades make no sense.

We're buyers, not sellers.

We need to be the team that trades multiple pieces for one, not the other way around.

Asik and Gibson are two, soon to be 26 year old, role players with limited upside.
They're your 6th and 7th best players on a championship team. Martin is your 3rd best player on a championship team.

If there's one thing Morey is good at it's finding undervalued role players.
We need a number one and number two guy. Finding the role players to round the roster out will be the easy part.

Really, I think I could do that trade in a minute. Ronnie Brewer has always seemed to be a better player than Martin. He wasn't as good this year as he has been in the past, though... Age? Injury? Offensive Scheme? I dunno why. He makes less than half what Martin does, too.

Asik and Gibson are both decent enough, but I wouldn't [and couldn't] do anything without Brewer.
Not so much interested in CJ Watson.
Morey 2020.

Man, the same thought ran through my head. I even ran through a physical and full barrage of psych-tests. ;)

Reminds me of that time I agreed with Iggy.

Yeah, let's trade one of our best players for three role players so we can have a 20 man rotation next year.
Even European coaches would be jealous.

Also Ronnie Brewer, eh?

Never been a big fan of his. I wouldn't trade the #23 pick for him.

He's a poor man's Tony Allen. A shooting guard that can't shoot, nor handle the ball.
He's effective as an energy guy off the bench, overplaying the passing lanes and putting pressure on guys, but that's pretty much what Courntey Lee does, except Lee is a much better outside shooter.

Yea these guys are ridiculous.

Courtney Lee is a competent 2 way player, Pumpfake is one of the most efficient guard in the HISTORY of the game. No matter bash Kevin Martin more than i do. He's an easy target because of his obvious weaknesses. But the guy has major.... elite strengths that nobody else on this team possess. This guy has a career TS% of 60% and can get to the line anytime he wants in the first 3 quarters.

To trade our best scorer for a 15mpg backup C, a backup wing with no shot and a backup PG who if acquired will turn into the backup of our backup PG is unacceptable.

Morey asked for Asik AND a first for Lee.
