Robin Lopez
Let's say that some team makes a ridiculous offer to Aaron Brooks that the Suns decide not to match. Do you think that they'd go for a Flynn/Lopez trade?
The dude jacked his back up and came back too early, but maybe with this extended time off he could become a servicable guy in the middle. Not a long-term answer by any means; but for the cost of a backup point guard could it happen?
I see Lopez' role diminishing over there with Gortat playing as well as he has.

Re: Robin Lopez
Another Rockets fan on the Robin Lopez bandwagon I see
I think the same argument you made for Lopez can be made for Flynn, who was held back by injury himself.
I think Flynn has far more potential, so I wouldn't trade him for Lopez.
Then again, I've never liked Lopez. I think he's a stiff.

Re: Robin Lopez
Courtney Lee for Lopez. Get it done.
Lopez may not be very fluid but he is tall and fills a position of need.
He can run, board, block the occasion shot and finish around the rim. Thats good enough for me.
If we trade Lee, we will be able to find minute for TWill and Dragic at the 2.

Whoa - I am not on the Lopez bandwagon. I am just seeing if others think that he could be a low-risk kind of player for one of our backup PGs.
I probably am undervaluing Flynn.

Re: Robin Lopez
backup SG for a backup C. Why not?
Lopez is a proven commodity. Its not like he was Thabeet where he was buried on the bench the whole time. Lopez started for the Suns and really did play well in the playoffs before he was injured. He WILL get minutes and produce on a team with a serious need for big.

Re: Robin Lopez
Robin Lopez did reasonably well because of Steve Nash and Phoenix's system.
In another system without Steve Nash I'm not even sure he's Aaron Gray.

Steve Nash didn't help him rebound or block shot. Robin Lopez is a mobile center that plays with energy, he's not Aaron Gray. Granted He's not very skilled but he doesn't need to be. Run, jump, rebound, contest shot, play with energy, dunk. He can do that.

Re: Robin Lopez
Nah, he isn't much of a better player than our players at PF. I dont see Robin as a center much. He may play there, but i've seen him get blocked so many times against tall centers with his less than fancy shooting form beneath the basket. He has intangibles and is a hustle player, but his offense im not impressed with, The Brook Lopez from the nets is the real deal though. But if the Rockets are absolutely desperate for a serviceable center, Robin Lopez isn't such a bad guy. Except , I think Suns like to keep him

Re: Robin Lopez
First of all let me say I don't understand why you guys are so "high" on so many players. We have too many players @ certain positions and I think their "upside" is overrated by a lot of our fans. I do think we need to move some players, but when we do I'm not gonna give them up for a big just because he's a big. Lopez isn't worth it. Like azn said he has the size but it doesn't matter if you don't play up to your size and he doesn't.

Re: Robin Lopez
thing about flynn is that he put up good numbers in his rookie year. lopez hasn't done much. he's arguably a 3rd stringer. lopez was borderline good numbers in his sophmore year, but only 50 games, and hasnt played 70+ games yet in one season.
i dont consider flynn a bust. if he didnt get injured last season he could've kept his starting job. he's still young and has lots of room to improve. lopez has 3 season and still can't get things going for him.
btw i'm ok with hill for lopez
