Scola was chosen MVP of the Americas Tournament for 3rd time in a row. Scola led the champion team (Argentina) with 21.6 PPG, 6.3 rebounds, 1.7 assist, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks in 29.2 mins

The ideal team of the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship for Men/Olympic Qualifying Tournament was:
PG: Marcelinho Huertas (BRA)
SG: Carlos Arroyo (PUR)
G: Manu Ginobili (ARG)
PF: Luis Scola (ARG)
C: Al horford (DOM)

Scola's previous MVP accolades in this tournament were in Las Vegas 2007 and San Juan de Puerto Rico 2009.

Now that the tournament has finished, Argentina and Brazil secured their place for Olympic games and join USA in the Americas Zone. There's a chance for Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Venezuela to get the last spot in a tournament to be played in July 2012 between these 3 teams and other teams to be disclosed from Europe and Asia zone

Good job Scola. I love how he just continues to improve his trade value even during the offseason.

In all seriousness, i'm happy for Scola and team Argentina. I watched a couple of their games and i noticed that Scola's form on his jumpshot appeared different. I think Rocket fan know what Scola can do by now. Against inferior competition i expect him to dominate.

When you dont jump more than 2-3inches, there isnt a whole lot of wear and tear. He could play for 2 more decades the way he does now.
