KMART's Value

Post#1 » by Chi town » Tue Nov 29, 2011 3:38 pm

Someone with supposed sources posted on the Bulls board about a Scola for Boozer deal. That means the thread is already 20 pages long.

I read in another thread where Morey has a man crush on KMART and won't trade him. Someone else said he thinks he will be shipped at draft for high pick.

Last season the Bulls were interested in Lee and Morey wanted Asik. Bulls said no.

What about Boozer and Asik for Scola and KMART?

Thoughts?

Scola, Martin, for Boozer and Asik is interesting enough to entertain. On one hand, the numbers and abilities of Scola and Boozer are similar, with Boozer being a better rebounder and Scola not hated in the city of Houston making the intangibles somewhat of a wash. Except, Scola has been an iron man so long as he's been in the league. That isn't something that is reflected on the stat sheet, but it is a good quality.

I think swapping Boozer and Scola is a lateral move for both teams and the meat of the deal is Martin to help with Chicago's back court scoring. We lose 20+ points a game and 5-6 personal fouls on the opposing team come late in the game. In return we get a 7 footer that is a bit of a project. In that light, the deal is somewhat lopsided now.

The player I am truly interested on the Bulls roster right now is Luol Deng, but he gets paid so much...

No. No its not. Have you SEEN Boozer's contract?

Scola himself is way more valuable than Boozer.

i'd rather have scola than boozer. boozers slightly better than scola but for a much steeper cost. plz dont get me started on his injuries

and scola/martin for boozer/asik is a rip off.

bulls and rockets aren't good trading partners.

I think Bulls covet the only piece they are missing, a shooting guard that can take the scoring load off of Derrick Rose by creating his own offense. Kevin Martin fits the bill famously now. He's also manage to do that without being a ballhog.

If they want Martin, they are gonna have to find a 3rd partner to take some of the logjam out of our 4 spot and give us a better rotation at the 3. As much as I like Courtney Lee, he's not really a solution for Chase's backup, and Chase is better I think as the 7th guy on the rotation anyway.

Now if they are going to talk about Courtney Lee and Asik plus Jimmy Butler, that I will consider. Courtney Lee does everything Kyle Korver cannot do and is a better two player than Ronnie Brewer. We get our 5 and a shooting guard from Marquette that is this years feel good story.

The thing is, Courtney Lee's 36 minute stats are frigging outstanding for how little we pay him. He gets 8 points in 20 minutes of play with a 400 3 point shooting percentage and a 440 fg, which is a efg of around 500. Those are frigging nice numbers for 2 million a year.

No that is a horrible deal I do not like anybody on the Bulls team other then Rose and Deng and Deng had to much money on his deal. Asik is 25 years old and has not done much. He should be entering the prime of his career but he i still underdeveloped. Also Bull are not going to have high enough draft picks either since they should be top 4 in the East.

Kevin Martin is a top 5-10 shooting guard, that is his value.

I like Asik alot. I think he can be a really solid starting center in the NBA. Chicago has really done an exceptional job developing him, he is solid defensively and as a rebounder. But no way would I want to take on Boozers contract. Plus i still hate him from his Jazz days...

If they want a shooting guard we'll start with a trade that involves Lee and Asik and work it out from there.

Kevin Martin as previously mentioned is the perfect fit for chicago. But they would have to start talking about Joakim Noah for that scenario to work out and they would have to believe Asik can fill in their starting center position.

Would definitely no part of Boozer, I like Scola more at this point.

Asik is a guy I really like though (as do the Bulls, obviously). Would love for a way to get him, awesome defender, very good rebounder..and only 24.

Now that i think about, Scola would do wonders in chicago. He has a better contract than boozer for one... two i think scola would be more reliable as an offensive option in the playoffs, boozer was non existent, scola would be money in hitting those open elbow jumpers... and finally you don't lose anything on defense because boozers is bad defensively himself.

With that said, i think there is a reasonable 3 team trade that can make chicago and houston happy... one that would involve scola and lee going to chicago (chicago gets their 2 and upgrade at 4 and we help our logjam) for possibly Asik. (NOTE: this is not the final trade, its just possible pieces, ill post a trade scenario later when i find a 3rd team that would make this balanced)

I'd like Asik, and don't mind giving up Scola and Martin (not for Asik, just in general), but don't want Boozer.
