Trade Proposal: 76ers and Bulls

Trade talk was put at a halt, what better time for a trade proposal

2 separate trades

Chicago receives
G: Courtney Lee

Houston receives
C: Omer Asik

We need a center bad. Omer Asik is a solid man to man defender and he is a good rebounder. He has 1 year left currently due $1.8 Mil. We can probably resign him to a good deal, a much better deal than $14 mil per year centers in the market are getting. He is 25 and I believe he will be more solid than any center available in the free agency in the long run with a much better contract.

I think what prevented the trade in the past is that Morey wants the bobcats pick from Chicago. Forget the pick, make it a straight up trade. We get a solid starting center and Chicago finally gets a good starting shooting guard.

2nd Trade

Philly receives:
F: Luis Scola
F: Jordan Hill and/or C: Hasheem Thabeet
Possibly Draft Pick

Houston receives:
G/F: Andre Iguodala

We need a defender at the wing. Andre Iguodala is in the top 3 wing defenders in the NBA. He is also a slasher and he is a very good playmaker. His weakness is his shooting. We also get rid of our glut at the power forward position. We get rid of Scola which we were planning to get rid of anyways. As I said he is not in the rockets future plans.

For Philly they are a young team and Iggy needs a new scenery. I think Iggy leaving will be good for both sides. They need to rebuild and Iggy has wasted enough time in Philly. They Scola is return, Brand lead them in scoring last season with 15ppg. Scola will easily be their best scoring option and he can run the floor and fit their style of play. Their starting center Hawes averaged 21mpg, they might be intrigued with either Thabeet and/or Hill to add to their front court. and of course a possible draft pick if need be to finalize the deal.

Rockets Roster

G: Lowry/Dragic/Flynn
G: Martin/T Will
F: Iguodala/ Budinger
F: Morris/ Patterson
C: Asik/ Hayes?

In Adelmans offensive system, it looks like a solid team offensively and defensively. We get a solid center without having to vastly overpay them $14 mil a year. To me, this looks like a solid roster and I think the trades scenarios are realistic.

thoughts?

as a fan no. but the management can see the sense in it. Iggy doesn't belong in Philly. His offensive production has regressed, Philly is a young team and they are rebuilding. They need young pieces and/or draft picks. Acquiring Scola will give them their best offensive option and he comes a lot cheaper than Brand. That will allow them to get rid of Brand and free up some space.

Sixers fan is right. How does Mr. Kova feel about Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young for Kevin Martin?

y are u the gm? because your gm was on his way to do it. the only thing that prevented him was that he did not want to give up the bobcats pick.

Martin for Turner/Young?? Sorry, but this one makes me laugh.. We are expecting big things from Turner this season.. We believe he can still be our go-to guy..
As for thad young, he is a match-up nightmare for every 4 in the league, and they are happy to bring him back..

But I have heard some rumors that sixers may explore Iggy for Martin straight up.. That would move Turner to 3, and Martin to sg..

I would jump on Martin for Iggy straight up in a heartbeat (unless the Paul trade gets unblocked, at which point, consideration is merited).

Send him over.

I'm not even sure it matters. Honestly. Lets see if I can do the math through my sulky haze:

- CP3/Gasol trade getting 86'd = no cap room to sign Nene (or some other semi-legit center).
- No new bigs = Rox still need Martin's scoring.
- No new bigs = Rox are less than attractive destination for front court players.

= Rox are stuck. Again. Waiting.

Salaries match. I thought asking for Iggy would be too much. I guess Philly fans think otherwise.

If we were still in the market for a big, say Dalembert, a starting 5 of:

Lowry, Lee, Iggy, Scola and Dalembert with Patrick Patterson, Dragic and Jordan Hill coming off the bench wouldn't be the worst rotation in the world, but we're not coming out of bottom place of the southwest division.

I'd give it an outside playoff shot.

Philly won't trade Iguodala for an older player who plays the same position as their oldest player. Point is, the Sixers would ask for Patterson and Budinger, because they will need to replace/trade brand eventually.

if morey wasn't asking for the bobcats pick, this trade would have been done during last trade deadline

you got a point there. Well depending on our front court situation, i wouldn't be opposed to parting with Patterson unlike the rest of the rockets fans.
