Screw it: 2012 will be the Year of Thabeet in Houston

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:07 am

Seeing as how our legs got taken out from under us this offseason for "basketball related reasons," I say that we don't go and overpay for Dalembert and instead just turn the season over to Hasheem Thabeet.

Why the hell not? At best he blossoms, at worst we won't have the 14th pick and no playoffs...again!

Play Thabeet, play Hill, play Tweeter. Let's just see what they can do.

Ol' Mr. E has entered "eff it" mode for the upcoming season. I'm just going to smile and watch the games and cheer for my team with no huge expectations. This will be a worry-free season for me. :)

Were the rumors of him being amnestied bogus? What's his status?

I was pretty surprised to hear them with Houston being in need of a center.

I'm actually cool with that and I'd also be cool with trading Kmart and Scola for youth and picks but we CANT lose Lowry and id be even happier with it if we didn't lose Hayes and get NOTHING!!! Except Jeremy Lin

that was only if the gasol trade went thru and nene was still available.
neither one is the case so no he wasn't amnestied.

I am with you and they should clear space and get what picks they can for Martin and Scola. Looks like no superstar is going to come here on their own and looks like we can't get one via trade. If we are going to be bad I want to be historically bad.

It's clear our strategy of acquiring a superstar through free agency or trade isn't going to work so yeah time to be last seasons cavaliers and lose

Morey finally got nothing for something.

Is 4 years some kind of NBA record?

:o Is everyone here suggesting we......

I'm all for it. No Hayes to see pull a triple double out of his butt, there is just one problem I see.

We suck at losing. I mean if you are going to lose, have some fun with it. Play like it's a pickup game.

I have an idea for a new Rockets slogan.

"We suck, and we are proud of it!"

Thabeets a bust. Rockets won't tank. Thabeet won't play.

Lets tank the **** out of this season. Even if we dont get a superstar out of the draft, you get very valuable trade asset in the form of draft picks.

I'm not advocating tanking. I'm just going into the season with no expectations of success. I want the guys to win as much as possible, but I'm not going to fret over any losses.

Let's see what these guys can do.

Thabeet will put this team on his oddly small shoulders and lead the Rockets to glory

Hill has impressed coach Kevin McHale early on and is the favorite to start at center should the Rockets fail to acquire a veteran, the Houston Chronicle reports.

The Rockets tried to land both Gasols, Nene and Tyson Chandler, so clearly Hill's not their ideal solution at the position. Nonetheless, he's looked good early in camp and has the athleticism to handle the position if he were to add some polish.

Can someone go drag his ass away from the Katy Mills slurpee machine and staple him to a benchpress machine right quick?

Thabeet needs a protein shake IV man... that and whatever they were feeding Eddy Curry 4 years ago.

Just get him some tape of Manute Bol's first few years in the NBA and say "do this".
Bol blocked 5 shots per game as a rookie and he was skinnier than Thabeet

With the strongest draft since 2003 coming up, I'd rather tank than be decent.
