question from Mavs fan
I am just wondering if fans of other teams think it is odd that the Mavericks were able to acquire Lamar Odom from the Lakers for essentially a bag of jelly beans?

I don't know about a bag of jellybeans, but I think the Mavs got a pretty good deal for what they need. Odom may be a bench player, but he was the 6th man of the year and could have started for a lot of teams out there. You may think he's old, but his contract is a very good one (expires after this season with a team option) and will not hurt the Mavs financially. The Mavs could have given up more than what's likely to be a low 1st-round pick.
Since their new acqusitions, the Mavs have yet to click. It takes time to adjust, and I think Odom will be fine.

I think that the loss of tyson chandler is a big loss for the Mavs. We'll see how they do in the post season though, they should still be good
