I already don't like this guy. I can't believe I'm saying this; but I miss Uncle Drayton... :nonono:

@#$%in' A, man!

He did announce some other things (dropping ticket prices, allowing fans to bring food & drinks to games); but suggesting to change the team name....

He even made a comment that "I'm sure that there were a lot of Colt 45 fans who loved that name."

COME BACK, DRAYTON!!!

I love the Astros name since I grew up with that but Colt 45s is still apart of Houston so I could stomach it after a while. Anyways the backlash he will receive for even thinking it will make him change his mind. Tickets prices only went up for Uncle Drayton last minute cash grab and the thought of a name change is not enough to want him back. Man stayed with his loyalties and choose Smith over Hunsinger. But yes I do not wan the named to be changed

You gotta be kidding me.

But if the Astros change their name, they will no longer be associated with their nicknames: "Lastros" or "Disastros". :D

I'd be fine with Colt .45's, really. Anything else and "boycott" better be in the air.

No- he's not saying to go back to the Colt 45's - that name was changed because the gun manufacturer sued the team.

He's saying something new and different....and screw that! They're the Astros!

Is a name change primarily to sell new uniforms with the new name and new logos? Or would a simple uniform design change take care of that?

I'm not a fan of "baseball cursive" lettering, and the star isn't very inspiring design-wise

but changing the Astros name? NO

He is not saying he is or really thinking about. He is just testing the waters and trying to get a buzz around town. Seems more like a marketing thing to me. What I have heard is this all has something to do with the team moving to the AL in 2013. Now he has said he is looking to chance the uniforms but the name changing thing was just thrown out there to see how people would take it. From what I heard on the radio is not positive feedback at all. It won't happen

I just heard that it was a nice way to get people talking about the team 2 months before the seasons starts.

Well, mission accomplished!

Of course the conversation is: "Don't change the name....my god, these guys suck!"
