Was last year a contract year for Scola?
Looking at his stat everything has gone down except for turnovers....

:-?

I was about to ask the same thing. I haven't seen a game yet this year (AH!), but his production has absolutely dropped off a cliff. He's only 30! This shouldn't be happening yet! What's up with him?

He's looked terrible. His only redeeming quality at this point is his hustle.

last season is the first year of his big contract
his defense is always bad
but this season lot of time he just stood there
maybe he was like that before too but Hayes was here to cover his ass
maybe the trade is still in his head

It's like Yao and his national team commitments. Luis is saving himself for London.

As I said before, Scola should have been and should be trade ASAP. His value was at its peak last season and it has nowhere to go but down... Trade Scola and put Patrick Patterson as the starter, he is one of the best defenders in our team and he shows a lot of potential on both ends of the court.

Scola has lost minutes this year to the youth experiment so far, and on top of that both Martin and Lowry are having more shots. Then you have Dalembert who gets more touches on offense than Chuck. All things remaining equal, Scola simply gets less plays called for him, so it's not a surprise his scoring goes down.

It's probably the coaching change. He hasn't looked like he lost a step.

but its not as if scola is part of our future plans. We have a young team were building. Scola is at his ceiling, he's not going to get a whole lot better, and his defense is bad, and as i mentioned his value will continue to decrease. I'm not saying trade him away just to trade him and get a 2nd round draft pick for him, of course, the trade has to be worth it.

Small sample size. Everyone panicked but he's done great the last few games. Nothing to worry about here.
