Adelman and Mchale

I have always been a fan of Mchale, not so mach as a GM but as a player and I thought he did a great job in his limited coaching in MN. I am curious how some of you would compare the two coaches and were there frustrations with RA?

I liked RA as a coach, I felt that he always got max potential for the rosters he had to put on the floor. My only beef with RA is that unlike McHale he did not like to play rookies. I like that McHale puts the best team on the floor regardless. Example: Chandler Parsons.

I think RA has done a good job so far this year, the one complaint I have is that he blows it with his rotations more than he should.

I've only watched about half of the Rockets games this year, but I've been very impressed with McHale so far.

McHale isn't as afraid as Adelman to mix and match and go with the guys who're playing well. He also isn't as hesistent to play rookies and IMO adjusts quicker to matchups/lineups groups working or not working.

From an X&O's standpoint the two run rather different stuff and it would be unfair to judge McHale with the limited time he has had. The fact the Rockets are 9th in offensive efficiency is pretty impressive, considering the limited practice time the Rockets have had under McHale.

mchale has exceeded my expectations. im ok with him as the coach for long term. he plays the hot hands, gives young players a chance.

adelman is great for a good playoff/contending team. mchale is looking like he's good for a new team/young/rebuiliding team.

Did not want or like Rick. Minny's past made me not want Mchale but this team has surprised me. I hated Ricks slow starts, not being able to find a rotation and sticking with players eventhough they are cold. Mchale so far is the completely different.

very surprised with how McHale has handled the rockets. honestly, what did i look forward to when i heard Mchale was the next coach? Nothing really... but he has done an exceptional job so far in his rotations. Lets see how the rest of the season turns out

Wow this is almost exactly whats going on with the Wolves, do alot of other houston fans feel the same way?

Not really. I think Adelman is a better offensive coach than Mchale. I don't care what you say about rubio, hes a great player, but adelman is the reason the wolves are competing every night. Mchale is a good coach, but not in the same caliber as adelman. Look at how adelman transformed the wolves. This team had no chance in years past. Playing in adelmans system, they look like a fun and exciting team. U really can't say our team is better than the wolves. We lost twice to u guys.

THe fact that we lost to a below .500 team in golden state warriors, just shows that our team is just an overperforming mediocre team. But we just lost to a team we are supposed to beat "warriors". Our offense is more stagnant than it was when adelman was here. Lowry sometimes looks like he runs out of ideas running the point position. We basically lost todays game because we relied on jumpshooting. We won vs phoenix because of our great jumpshooting. But phx isn't a great team either.

And I disagree when you guys say Adelman don't play rookies. Budinger was a rookie, Patrick Patterson was a rookie last year! and Hill was a rookie. I remember Budinger starting when adelman was here. we had fringe players like von wafer and chuck hayes playing before.. Theyre not rookies but a risk to play .

And if mchale plays rookies dadadada, why the hell is our 14th pick "Marcus Morris" in the D league.. When he could be helping us. And the most athletic and enormous potential Terence Williams, hasn't played a single meaningful minute in our rotation? And why do we play an 8 player rotation? lol... U guys are pulling the string too hard. In fact Mchale is just as conservative as Adelman, if not more. But i do agree he plays players who has the hot hand. But that's no einstein. I liked Adelmans rotation too.

One of the difference between Adelman and McHale is their team rotation. I'll have to give McHale the edge since he likes to put young players in while Adelman is a stubborn, old man. With that said, I'm glad McHale is doing a better job than Adelman right now.
