Too early to tell.

Morey said on draft night that the Rockets were happy when Utah took Alec Burks, because they knew they would get one of the Morris twins, so obviously they liked both.

Marcus will get his shot once Bud gets traded. We might have a better idea then.

I'd love to see marcus get some pt at some point this season but I don't think it'll happen. His jumper looked sweet during the preseason.

agreed. Plus Marcus will take more time because he is trying to move to a different position than the one he played in college. Kieff is playing the same position and they were always said to be two of the most nba ready players in the league. Combine that with phoenix need for big guys that actually PLAY LIKE BIG GUYS and you see why kieff is playing so soon.

Morris wasn't drafted for this year in mind from what I can tell- hence the RGV stint that we use for our guys who appear to have future plans.

His brother would be in the same situation if Marcus had been drafted first.

just an outside observation but does the guy look to be a bit shy? in his interviews he seems like a quiet guy compared to a guy like parsons. does that sort of translate into his game? does he attack the rim or he more of a perimeter player?

I thought Mchale plays rookies guys"?? Why is he putting our 14th pick in the doghouse.. Play Marcus already! It's not like we're consistently dominating teams. And our SF and PF position is pretty weak at times. I say give Marcus Morris at least 15 minutes a game. Im sure he could perform. As much as i loved Patrick Patterson last season. He's still fresh off his injury this year... and whilst he's still a good shooter, he looks so stiff and predictable out there. Im sure that Marcus has better moves in the paint, and is a better scorer. He also hustles on defense... Lets get real, he'll defend better than Scola.

And he won't get much experience in the D league against scrubs. Test him to the sharks in the nba! Play him already Mcfale!

in those few games Marcus Morris was playing
he was basically shooting jumper (way too many 3)
if he's playing SF
he's not better shooter than Budinger and not better rebounder/defender than Parsons
if he's playing PF
and he's not Dirk Nowitzki

If you had watched the games that Marcus played in, you would see that he was playing scared which was why he was sent down to the Dleague. TWill is also not getting any playing time because he's too sporadic with the ball - he simply can't run plays without being too flashy.

He still needs to be given more time and opportunity to play. We can't say he sucks after one game he played sporadically. Plus he was our 14th pick. Develop him to be a better player. We did have a high evaluation of him when we got him..

And why is Shumpert outperforming so many rookies that went before him? The guy looks like the best defender and attacker of the basket and the most athletic. So its such a shame we didnt get him. We could have got shumpert, trade Clee or Kmart. Shumpert is definitely not ready to start. But he is an asset off the bench with his energy and hustle

Great post. His defense is phenomenal, and I don't think we've seen a rookie who's as good defensively (around the perimeter) in the recent years. With Lin and Shumpert, I think the Knicks will have a great young backcourt for the future.

problem with scouting is most of them just look at athleticism
how fast they run and how high they jump
they thought they could improve their game as they go along
hard to work on their game if their work ethic is bad
even harder when they have million of dollars

Morris Dropped 25 on the Spurs in the Preseason and didnt get PT after that , Parsons didnt do anything . Mchale must have seen something in practice

He didnt look scared when I saw him play add to that he has been Ripping up the D League and has played with authority in the games Ive seen in the D league
