HOU/PHO Trade Idea

Post#1 » by texasholdem » Tue Feb 21, 2012 7:19 am

Houston gets: Steve Nash and Marcin Gortat ($18,479,702)
Phoenix gets: Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, Jordan HIll and Marcus Morris ($18,306,880)

Houston
SF: Chandler Parsons, Chase Budinger
PF: Luis Scola, Patrick Patterson
C: Marcin Gortat, Samuel Dalembert, Greg Smith, Hasheem Thabeet
PG: Steve Nash, Jonny Flynn
SG: Kyle Lowry, Courtney Lee, Terrence Williams

Phoenix
SF: Jared Dudley, Marcus Morris, Grant Hill, Josh Childress
PF: Markieff Morris, Jordan Hill, Hakim Warrick
C: Channing Frye, Robin Lopez
PG: Goran Dragic, Sebastian Telfair, Ronnie Price (Aaron Brooks???)
SG: Kevin Martin, Shannon Brown, Michael Redd

Phoenix only has 13 players so they don't need to waive anyone to do a 2 for 4 player trade.
Rockets would be down to 13 players from 15.

While I think a Nash-Lowry backcourt would be so much fun to watch on offense, in the longterm this is a deal to get the 28 year old Gortat who is a 15/10 center this year. He will be our Pekovic Stopper next year.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

in reality steve nash does not want to get traded and of course if there was every a situation where nash and phx decided to go their separate ways, Nash would probably be with a contender. and even less likely they include their solid center which as we all know are few in numbers.

Suns aren't going anywhere this year, Nash is a free agent.
Martin = 29 year old 2nd tier two guard
Dragic = fan favorite and capable starting point guard
Morris = teams up with wonder twin Markieff for frontcourt of the future
Hill = UA product, might be better than Lopez or Frye at center
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Gortat = Super Cheap (7m, yes?) All Star Center (or right at it)
Nash = Still a Superstar via some sort of Unknown Black Magic

Either of them is better than our whole package. I'd happily do the trade.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor
