And here's a statistic: on 55 isolation possessions, opponents are shooting just seven for 44 against Parsons. That would be good for 15.9 percent.

i'm usually not deep with stats but i just saw this on clutchfans. thats insane for a rookie, even more crazy with his short armspan

Why are good defenders such crappy free throw shooters? Chuck Hayes, Dwight Howard, Ben Wallace, Bruce Bowen, Dennis Rodman, Marcus Camby.

Not saying Parsons is at that level defensively but his FT shooting is bad like theirs. Makes it hard to keep them in at the end of the game without having to call time outs and swap players in and out.

Nobody knows him probably. I'm not surprised. He is deceptively athletic and hes tall good bball iq, so he can defend the opponent better. But he needs proactiv. There's always acne outbreak on his face.

maybe the acne is his secret weapon? it distracts his man just enough to miss.

I understand the comparison with Bruce Bowen.. but comparing Parsons to Howard.. Wallace.. Camby?

he's not comparing their defense, just listing a bunch of good defenders with bad ft%

Olajuwon was a 72% career free throw shooter.
Pippen was a 70% career free throw shooter.

3 great defenders. 3 mediocre foul shooters. Though Dream was clutch in end game situtations usually.
