Why does Hou want Gasol sooo bad????

Magic fan here, I just can't understand why your team wants Gasol so bad. You guys are in 4th place and are open to letting scola and martins go for him, I just don't understand. Is there something I am missing??

We dont really... Our front office hasn't even been checking up on him since the trade was rescinded.
It's just everyone else believes we still want him, because we need/want a star player.
Also, Scola and Martin are very expendable. They are not the reason we are winning.

we dont want gasol anymore. at the time of the trade, we wanted because we'd get nene and re-sign hayes. the goal was to get all 3 on the team, not just gasol. the 3 of them would make the best overall frontcourt in the league. i still have wet dreams about that frontcourt /greenfont
all 3 good defenders and passers. most of our offense ran through HAYES last season, at the high post/elbow.. pau's offensive skills would take pressure off nene and hayes. hayes in recent years became effective on the offensive end, even started making his fts. add to that lowry's emergence, a surprise 2nd round defensive wing in parsons, and lee (and maybe even jeremy **** lin since dragic would be gone), this team would mos def be a contender

lowry/lin
but of corse i would be dreaming if anything like that happened. basketball gods would never allow such a thing. the universal powers would shift out of balance

i figure anyone i didnt mention would be traded or 3rd stringers. the trade was martin, scola, dragic, 1st pick for gasol? for nene we might need to s&t, they'd want patterson, maybe bud, and any combo of the 09 picks
did forget to mention motiejunas for next season. good insurance to have,and mabye even sergio lol

Yeah but the original was just Martin, Scola, Dragic and a first. No Patterson. When that got shot down Patterson was talked about in the 2 round. We were not going to sign and trade for Nene, we had the money all we had to do was dump Thabust.

people need to stop bringing back the Gasol trade talk
we wanted an all-star before the season
the trade was Gasol for Scola+Martin+Dragic
then Stern step right in and ask for Lowry or Patterson and the NY pick
this is before Lowry break out season and Patterson after surgery
so far
Gasol, Scola, and Martin are bad, inconsistent
and people think we are going to trade Lowry for Gasol?
Lowry stock is at all time high
we are not sure how much he can still improve (only 25)
hey his contract aint much compare to others
Gasol trade kicker is bad for team to take him

It centers around the long-term Martin and Scola contracts plus expendable Rocket players. It makes sense for Houston in terms of having a Patterson-Gasol-Dalembert group in the front court with Courtney Lee as the primary SG because of his defense. That's part of why the most recent three-way discussions rumor Parsons. Dragic becomes the third-man in the guard rotation.
Scola makes perfect sense as a Laker in the current offense, Martin does not which is why all of these trades really are about mixing and matching veterans to new teams.
Mitch met with Morey again at the All-Star game so there's definite chemistry there.

I think that Pau would be much better here than many think, but I no longer think a deal for him will happen unless the price goes down.

trying to built the grizzlies from five year ago with an older gasol
built a team similar to the lakers without kobe bynum phil jackson and help from stern

In what way are we better than that team?
Point Guard? We're better after that trade
SG? Only position that gets worse and even I'm starting to get frustrated with Martin these days.
SF? Same
PF? Significantly better
C? Holy crap better.
And given that we're like 5th place right now? That team up there would have been a contender. I mean, seriously, you seem to think "OH NO GASOL" for some reason which I can't comprehend.
