Blue Light Special: Desperation Deals for Kevin Martin

Post#1 » by texasholdem » Mon Mar 12, 2012 4:08 pm

This has to be his last week in a Rocket uniform.

Martin to NOH for Emeka Okafor?
Martin to SAC for Chuck Hayes and Francisco Garcia?
Martin to CHA for DJ Agustin and Boris Diaw?
Martin to IND for George Hill? (Indy is 15 million under the cap so the salary diff don't matter)

I think Hill would be great with Lowry out, even if he is more of an undersized shooting guard than a natural point guard. Martin would come off the bench for the Pacers backing up Granger and Paul George.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

This.

I dislike Martin just as much as some of you (well, maybe not as much as rocketsballin :) ), but there's no point in trading him for guys like Okafor, Augustin or the Chuckwagon with Garcia attached. I like George Hill, but I think you can do a little better, still.

You just don't sell low, unless you absolutely have to (see Aaron Brooks).

I expect Martin to get traded -- at the very latest some time before next season -- but I think/hope we'll get more in return than some player of the caliber you brought up.

How do you know his value is going to go back up? He can't even dribble the ball without travelling.

^Oh I don't. But I know that -- rule changes or not -- Kevin Martin isn't quite as bad as he's played this season.

His value may not have hit rock bottom just yet, but it's pretty damn low I imagine.

Rockets rarely make trades that arent blatantly in thier favor. Deals for Martin are unlikely.

T-Wolves trying to trade for Jason Richardson. Surely Adelman would prefer Kevin Martin.

Beasley and Wes Johnson?
