Kyle Lowry's bacterial infection
Mar 25 After three days of tests, Lowry is progressing in his treatment from a bacterial infection on schedule but remains far from a return to workouts, much less games, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Lowry is scheduled to be checked again in eight- to-10 days, but is progressing well enough that there will not be a change in the treatment, as was possible when he was fighting infection.
Kevin Martin's right labral shoulder injury
After surgery, you will need to keep your shoulder in a sling for 3 to 4 weeks...Athletes can usually begin doing sport-specific exercises 6 weeks after surgery, although it will be 3 to 4 months before the shoulder is fully healed.
Lowry could be out for the season, and martin could be out till next preseason. It's clear this team is struggling to finish games w/o it's starting backcourt. Even though the refs screw us at the end of the games, we'd be finishing games with Lowry playing, considering how close the score is.
Best case scenario Lowry's back for the last 2 weeks (7 games). still enough games for this team to make a last minute playoff push, but till then we have to stay afloat, which wont be easy. outside of sacramento, all these games are gonna be tough. even the kings aren't a sure win, w/o the starting backcourt we can lose any game.
I looked up labral tears online and read that people were able to hold off any surgery, but it still affected them. If martin needs the surgery, then i dont want him back this season. He was playing with that all of march, so he wont be much better. Lee is doing a better job as the starting sg imo.
good news is that the west is stronger this year (stronger every year really). if the suns, jazz, twolves, and blazers stay relatively healthy, we should get a higher pick. jazz/twolves could get a better record, maybe suns. blazers prolly not.

Well our rebounding, we have been out rebound ppl since Camby by double digits each game it seems.
Martin wasn't doing much at any rate if anything he was hurting us, tho I would like him for PO.
I wish I knew what kinda of infection Lowry has, is he on bed rest for this whole time? Maybe its his gallbladder or pancreas.

get well soon Lowry.
I honestly feel we'll make the PO.... POR is out, DEN most likely will miss out too.
I can't see the suns continue on this run, so its just Minny & DEN we gotta look at, and they are in the same boat with injuries... well Minn isn't as bad as the Den situation.

yeah here's the teams rebounding numbers with camby. he's adding a nice rebounding edge for houston
vs suns 48-39
vs lakers 40-31
vs gsw 48-31
vs mavs 52-38
he can take the starting center spot if the rest of his game translates (which i think will happen). he did a good job on dirk at the end of the game. really need to keep him for next season, he wont ask for a lotta dough
im not saying its far fetched to make the playoffs, but w/o martin and lowry, its gonna be hard as hell. thats a ton of scoring we need to make up for. everyones playing well after the all star break, that's gonna be huge if we make the playoffs
after a second look at the schedule, its not brutal as i thought.
3 games vs contenders - lakers, bulls, heat.
other tough games - memphis and dallas twice.
easy games - kings twice, hornets twice, and warriors
the rest of the games could go 50-50, depending on how much energy the team has, other teams' injuries/energy, etc
still gonna be tough to win these games. making up for 30+pts we get from lowry/martin can be draining both phyisically and mentally.

We still have a roster spot open. Why aren't we picking up any veteran help? and Fortson is horrible and looks like a WNBA player out there. He waived off Parsons on one play and I was like "Really???"

Doesn't mean they aren't getting run down. Dragic played 48 of 53 minutes of last night's game.
Time to sign Mike James for a couple of 10 day deals?

http://hoopshype.com/free_agency.htmI guess I would say pick up Earl Boykins we know he is a big scorer off the bench and thats all we need.
I mean seriously if Patterson made just ONE shot we would of beaten DAL, and we shot like below 40% and still almost one.
So yea Boykins, maybe Will Conroy/Anthony Carter instead of Fortson(lolz did he really waive off Parsons... smh)

Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Kyle Lowry back at shootaround on Monday said he does not know if he will play again this season. Will be long road back after anti-biotics.

we could at least actively try to not make the playoffs so instead of a first round sweep and pick 16-17. we could have pick 13-14 and pick 16-17 and hopefully pick 21-22
maybe we then package those and move up

hoopshype is legit they just link to stories/rumors from other sources... your thinking of hoopsworld.
Remember it was like two weeks ago when Wallace came out and said he is ready to play again.
The Lakers then signed him but idk wtf happen, he then went for a work out with the Heat.
Also just saw a tweet about Boykins sign might be ready for tonight.
Awesome pick up big scorer off the bench

oh right my bad, hoopsworld. i get those two sites mixed up.
we got boykins on a 10 day contract, and signed fortson for the rest of the season. were these 2 the best pgs out there?

I guess we're also watching the Knicks playoff shot...
Any word on how long Amare is going to be out?

Jeez I thought Boykins was replacing Fortson...
That Amare injury sounds a lot like Baron Davis injury and he was out a lot longer than expected, didn't he need surgery?
Also on sounds like Lin is suffering from a nagging injury.
