Rockets eliminated from playoff contention. Who's fault?

Post#1 » by dunleavyjr » Mon Apr 23, 2012 12:35 am

Rockets lost to the Heat. This means Rockets are officially eliminated from playoff contention. In you guy's honest opinion, who should take most of the blame?

No one's fault really. There were little expectations for this team going into the season, and a majority of NBA fans expected us to be in the lottery. I'm sure that only a small amount of people expected us to even come close to the playoffs given what we had to dealt with.

P.S.

Kevin Martin should not start and Patterson should never play Center again. Ever.

i don't understand this management
jordan hill played pretty well at pf with brad miller
show today he can play pf pretty nice
now we have 2 centers and we trade him away

i blame it on front office
if they listen to me
tom thibodeau is our head coach

Kevin Martin takes the most blame, the way I see it. Rockets had huge expectation of him to lead the team. He flopped completely. Many games, Rockets couldn't seal the deal toward the ending of the 4th quarter. Why? Not enough firepower to sustain. Martin would be the one to provide the lift. He just busted.

Camby > Hill
Dalembert, Scola, Patterson > Hill

Hill sucks, and has 1 good game out of 20.

I'm disappointed in you Max.

And yea there needs to be a Mr. E option, a China one, and a McGrady one.

If we don't make the playoffs or outta of the 1st round, ITS ON HIM!

Team constructed is not playoff worthy. So it's managements fault.

On a 2nd thought, you are probably right about the team not being built for playoff. You look at championship calibur teams like Lakers, Heat, Spurs, you just feel bad. Bench players on these teams are at least as good as Rockets starters, if not better.

If the Rockets didn't drop 7 of their last 8 games, the Jazz wouldn't be in this position to make the playoffs. I'm assuming you didn't tank it so the Jazz would have to give their pick this year to Minnesota. What's the front office saying about this?

Lots of things have to take place this off season. We've got some cap space opening up, some intriguing pieces. We need to figure out who to put at PG. I personally think we need more post action. Since Yao's been gone, as good as Luis can be, he's not a number one option down-low, that's where he's been consistently exploited. We've got some good pieces, I was hoping for more contribution from Lee honestly, but he's just a rotation player (solid one, but not starting material). Lots of issues to address, it'll be an interesting off-season nonetheless.
