Amare Stoudemire as a Gasol replacement

Post#1 » by Rondo2Hondo » Sun Apr 29, 2012 2:52 pm

First reaction, is "No way! He's injury prone and uninsured."

Stoudemire has been injured this year, and does not fit in with Carmelo. I'm sure if the Rockets gave up Dragic or Lowry, the Knicks would give Lin in the deal.

How would you guys feel of you received Stoudemire and Lin for Dalembert, Lee, Scola and Lowry/ Dragic?

no. Lin and Dragic are unrestricted free agents anyway so can't be traded.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

i don't understand why you guys are against tanking?
we don't have a true superstar
Amare, Melo, Gasol are no superstar, they are just all-star player

only 7 superstar in this league imho
lebron, durant, kobe, rose, cp3, dirk, wade
we have no chance getting any
so why not try our luck in the draft?
seattle/okc got their luck and got durant
they suck for few years
drafted westbrook, harden, ibaka, look where they at now
need to be patient

whats the point when our gm and coach have perverted sexual fantasies about undersized pfs?

I agree with you Max but Melo is a superstar.

Now I would rather go after Al Jefferson then the overrated and vastly overpaid Amare

Ok, since this thread's topic is pointless, i'll ask.

Max, what would you do? Right now. To fix this team.
by the way, I very much disagree with your assessment of the league's superstars.

melo is star but not supertar
he doesn't get the superstar treatment

right now just wait for the draft order
if lucky got the top 3 - great
if not, we are back to 2 seasons ago
can't trade up
can't sign star (face it good players doesn't want to play for a lottery team unless you overpay them)
can't do anything but wait for luck
took boston long time to finally to build their big 3 (or 4) team
problem with us is we don't even have one star
lowry, scola are good players but they are not star
josh smith might be available
but you guys don't want undersized pf (he's more 6'8" than 6'9")

i propose keeping lowry and let dragic go
this has nothing to do with lowry > dragic
this is to show some loyalty to its players (we can't just keep trading our starting pg)
also i don't want the team so sign a backup pg to a starter salary

draft a shotblocker
i don't care how tall you are
need someone know how to block shot
fab melo?
draft marquis teague
this kid got good penetration skill
will do well in nba touchless rule

btw
rondo may be available too
we don't have the best trade bait in the league
if can't get any then we need to overpay
mayo? beasley?

So you are okay with trading for Rondo? What happened to showing some loyalty to our players and not contiunally trading our starting PG? That's a quick flip flop.

Max I think I usually agree with you... but I disagree with everything in that post aside from the Lowry Dragic thing, loyalty thing.

First of all I would sell Mr. E's soul for Melo... sry Mr. E ;)

"draft a shotblocker"
We had two of the top 10 shot blockers in the league in Camby & Dalembert, McFail just quit playing them.

You mention Smith but miss Al Horford he would be a nice 4 here.

If we draft either Teague or Fab Melo with our 1st round picks I would absolutely give up on Morey, that is just way too high to draft them.

Mayo? Beasley!?! WTF NO GOD NO...

well maybe Mayo but a hell no if we have to overpay its his contract year and he just hasn't shown anything to warrant a big contract.

Beasley is well... I wouldn't want him here for the minimum.

horford is not on the market
atlanta is willing to trade him for dwight howard

my plan is to keep lowry
ok when we lose
i know you play to win
i just hate coach play him 40 mpg and don't give other players a chance

trading for smith and rondo is plan #319050914714
since morey screwed up my pan #1 long time ago

shotblocker
camby isn't young anymore and he can't stay healthy
dalembert? he's alright if he would stop shooting the ball from 15 feet away thinking he's tim duncan

Sorry, dude - my soul has a "no-trade" clause.

I am NOT making that mistake again!
