I believe you're owing your second rounder - 44th overall - to the Pistons this year to complete the Budinger to Houston trade. So you essentially traded the 44th overall pick for the 18th overall pick.

so the rumor last night is half true
we are not trading kevin martin but chase budinger

well so it's one of the below
a) we are really getting 4 first round picks and go after dwight howard
b) going after royce white
c) none of the above

i think marcus morris is happy

I'd say we're going to take white with that pick. Good trade, I hope bud plays well over there and I think he will.

depend what they want to do with the pick
maybe just trying to save money because he will be free agent after 12-13 season

In 1998 the Rockets also had the 14, 16 and 18 picks.
Michael Dickerson, Bryce Drew and Mirsad Turkcan.

Nice trade Morey!

Although its bitter sweet Bud was a nice player, Hope he does well over there.

Now it looks like we are slowly moving away from that 50's White allstar Rocket team...

Wow, can't believe we traded a bench player who fell out of the rotation at times last season for a mid first in a good draft. Steal trade by Morey.

Talent wise, I don't see why everyone is ecstatic. Budinger was a nice scoring option off the bench and started to improve his defense toward the end of the year. But what others said is correct, he is on the last year of his contract and will probably be getting $4-5 million a season offer somewhere else which I'm not sure we can afford to match. We already have Parsons, Lee, Martin, Morris that are all rotational players so we can afford to trade Chase. I just hope this is part of a successful bigger plan and it's not butchered like I suspect it will be.

Eh, ok. I hope that Budinger does well in Minnesota. I would have liked to keep him as a inexpensive scoring option off of the bench; but like others have said - he'll be up for a payday soon.

I don't see anyone breaking the back for him; but if he's not in the long-term plans best to move him now. Getting a mid first round pick for him is a nice return.

Sources say Houston has an offer of Lowry, the #14 and #16 picks for Tyreke Evans and the #5 pick on the table. Up to Sacramento to decide.

Our GM may not have hit any home runs, but he's good with these "little" trades. Things like this or dealing Brooks for what turned out to be Dragic & Motiejunas - he's good at that.

Nice lead-off hitter. Gets on base. Wish that he could hit for power.

i see what the rockets are doing....trying to get more draft picks to sweeten their deals across the board....

bud still had defense and rebounding issues, but he will be a decent player in this league. if he keeps hitting 3s, he'll be a good specialist.
