Parsons future?

Post#1 » by Alex I Be » Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:47 pm

If the Dwight deal goes down, do you guys feel Morey will part ways with Chandler Parsons, especially risking DH12 leaving after one year? I see upside on Parsons and Lamb, but I'm sure Magic want both. I really hope we can keep these two guys, or Parsons at least. I don't like this one bit.... :wavefinger:

There are no untouchables on this team right now...yes, Parsons could be dealt and the Magic probably want him too considering that he is from the Orlando area..

I'm starting to see reports saying that our offer is not nearly as much as espn is reporting(probably got the info from one of chris broussard's "sources"). I don't think parson is going anywhere and if he is I think white/lamb might be staying..

Imo parsons best case scenario Is battier with a bit more ball handling skill.

He is a career role player, 4th option.

Good player to have but not essential.

Did you see the game today? Parsons was really impressive. More mobile than Battier ever was and still has room to improve. Even his free throw form looked great. Parsons for MIP!

As a onlooker, I really think that Houston should hold onto Lamb, Parsons, White, and Motiejunas.

I'd probably try to push a trade that is something like Kevin Martin, Toronto pick, Patterson, Morris, and a Rockets pick or two for Dwight + bad contract. In my opinion that's better than Andrew Bynum. I don't know if it's better than Harden/Ibaka, but I'd take it over that. No one else can offer anything better, so If I were Morey I would just hold out until Orlando becomes desperate enough to move him for something. A better offer won't come and Houston should not blow up their team. It's better to wait and make the right trade, then rush and trade away too many assets. The worst case scenario is that Houston continues to build through the draft. I think this team has great potential if they remain patient and get the right deal for Dwight. Orlando is playing hardball but it will be different once the actual season starts. Their GM does not want to rush because right now is just summer league stuff. Things will change come October.

I think all of us would love to have these guys be back, but i think Parsons might be the one gone from this bunch and possibly White unless we give them Jones instead. Basically i think either Parsons or Patterson will be out and recent draftees(either Jones or White). I don't see Morey giving up Lamb due to our lack of shooting... So two guys from those four would likely be shipped out along the picks, Martin, and expiring deals or whatever we had.

Motie cant be traded till Jan so not worrying about that.

Parsons is on his way to becoming a solid rotation player. He is already beginning to take on a leadership role, and let's be honest, you can never completely gut a team. I would actually say that Parsons, Lamb, Moju, and White are the safest thing to a lock, as far as being a Rocket at the start of the season.

Then again, I've been wrong before.

Magic fan here.

I think what the Rockets end up trading for Dwight Howard is largely dependent on how confident they are that he will resign. I'm sure that even now the rockets are trying to see if there is a feasibility of that happening. Personally, i want Lamb and PArson as i think they have great futures. I can see the reluctance to hold on to either one because I think Lamb could be the best 2 guard in this draft 3 years from now and am really high on Parsons. If Dwight shows that he's willing to committ i think Magic get both. if not i think we'd get one or the other plus the picks and the expirings. Don't want anything to do with Royce Wite. not impressed at all.

He'll be special with Lin giving him the ball. Just get himself open.

Another Magic fan here...

I understand why you guys wouldn't want to give up your young talent, but I doubt we pull the trigger on a deal that doesn't include Lamb and two picks. I like Parson, but that might just be my Orange and Blue glasses. I have no interest in either Morris or White, and only marginal interest in Jones.

I would not want to get rid of Chandler Parsons. He has a lot of upside. First thing you notice when you see him play is his defense. He was already a pretty good defender in his rookie season, and you notice situations when he was guarding Kobe late in the game. That's quite the compliment for a rookie. The level of wing defender that Parsons can develop to, add to the fact his height and length, makes him a valuable piece to a contending team.

But unlike Battier, he is not, limited to catch and shoot on offense. His shooting needs some work ok, but he can handle the ball and create for himself a bit. I'm anxious to see how he develops. He can be a difference maker... an x factor at his position.

Magic already have about 6 PF's on the roster. Why would they need Patterson and Morris?

Where is Patterson? Other than clubbing with his LV tee on.

Good to see Parsons' acne has cleared up too.
