Rockets Signs Lin

Post#1 » by texasholdem » Fri Jul 13, 2012 9:10 pm

The board welcomes all Lin fans. However, please be mindful that this is a Rockets forum first and (insert any player on the Rockets) forum second. In other words, Lin fans should not come here and disrespect any Rockets fans who's supported the team through thick and thin. I also request that all existing Rockets to welcome the Lin fans.

=======================================================================

The Rockets have reportedly dropped a bombshell, greatly increasing the third-season salary in the offer sheet signed by Jeremy Lin on Friday.

Last week, it was reported that the Rockets and Lin had agreed on an offer sheet totaling approximately $19 million guaranteed over three seasons, with a team option on the fourth and final season.

The deal was increased to $25 million total over three years, with the final season now nearly $15 million. That final season could cost the Knicks as much as $45 million in luxury tax payments. It is unclear if a team option still exists for a fourth season.

I'm sure Morey is the most hated man in the New York Knick organization.

The Rockets are trolling the Knicks, Bulls, Magic, Nets, Lakers, PFs. Hell, the Rockets are trolling the entire NBA.

Because he traded away Carl Landry, and let Chuck Wagon go as well.

Lin is essentially luxury tax proof due to the international demand. Any money his team will have to pay, they will make back.

We're still not going to get him. This is the Knicks people. When has something like a Luxury Tax ever played a role in their decision making process?

we might not get him but it's always funny to Punk'd the Knicks.
we should have signed him for $999,999.999 since they supposedly said they would match up to 1 Billion dollars (James Dolan is Dr. Evil?)
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Houston will successfully continue to be the contender of Asian market if this deal goes through. Great business move. Congratulations on acquiring a defensively incapable point guard with unproven overall skills. Has good IQ though. Maybe he will help his teammates graduate from open-universities or online courses. :D

They're going to match; but the Rockets had to try.
