Royce White

Post#1 » by ShumpertIsland » Fri Jul 20, 2012 3:26 pm

Royce White's play making skill and passing skill is insane and can handle the ball too !!!

My question is how can Rockets make the best use of these strengths ?

I know for sure , during the last 7 minutes of the game, he should be in the game.

But I still think he should come off the bench to create plays for our second unit.
It seems like he plays the best offense by having ball in his hands.

Thoughts ...?

Well if he learns a jumper then use him in the high post.

Definitely high post, point forward. Or Lowpost if he can develop low post moves as an undersized player like odom.

Yeah I can see him being the leader of the 2nd Team as Point Forward, especially if we don't keep Machado. But he will be an offensive liability, so don't expect to see him get crunch time until he solidifies his jumper.

I have this strange feeling he wont play more than 15mpg for us during his rookie year. I wouldnt be surprised if jones, dmo and patterson are ahead of him in the rotation.

His passing is nice but during half court set with lin dominating the ball, will he be a liability offensively?

I just did a Trade Machine with Sacramento.

We Send them Kevin Martin

We get Chuckwagon and Garcia.

Alternatively change Garcia out with Evans, and we throw in a 1st round pick.

It works Monetarily,

We get rid of Martin.

Chuckwagon is back.

Works for me, pull the damn trigger.

How come he gets to be a broken record?

re: Guy986

I hope Royce White gets some semblance of a set/jump shot from 18 feet before the season starts. If he catches the ball at the elbow with that, he'll be a pretty nice triple threat. Then folks will have to double eventually.

I like what I saw in the summer league and he came across as a pretty ambitious guy. We can only hope he's getting his reps in.

He was in foul trouble in every game of the Summer League - hopefully just a bad streak.

would love to see how Lin and White playing together could be great chemistry. Imagine White being the pt. forward and passing to Lin while he is on the move.

I think you might be right.

Since the beginning of the morey era, everytime we have a first round draft pick, we have sent them to the viper.

Brooks
Patterson
Morris
White next?

Always tough on coaches to play rookies and we have 4. We will definitely send someone down.

I'm really high on White

He would've played for Kentucky, and probably started without his anxiety issue. He was too nervous to board planes to Kentucky iirc. This was his stat line vs Kentucky[and Davis] in the ncaa tourney

23/9/4/3/1 and 3 turnovers on 9-12 shooting. His team lost by 16 because of how bad they were. I think White had one of the best A/TO out of any non guard in the draft, he's solid. He needs to get a jumper though like people have brought up. But I have no doubt that he might turn out to be an all star some day

Use him as a Lamar Odom-type. Play to his strengths and develop his weaknesses. He'll be raw, and his scoring leaves a lot to be desired, but in time, he'll be a valuable asset.

forget about jumper.

Just focus on post moves and passing and rebound and he would be an incredible HULK

I am so high on Royce White , very rare talent.

Yeah he is big enough and quick enough to be a beast in the post, and his driving and handling skills means he will be able to get his shot down frequently. I see him as a poor man's Barkley. He's really a unique player.
