What to do with Kevin Martin now?

If it weren't for the quest for Dwight he would have and could have been traded by now but now it feels like there aren't many viable options for him left. I'm sure he doesn't want to be here any more than most of us want him on this team.

KMart to CLE for Anderson Varejao? Dion Waiters doesn't look ready to be a starting NBA 2guard yet but is Tyler Zeller ready to take over the Cav's center spot from Sideshow Bob?

KMart to TOR for Andrea Bargnani? He's gonna earn 33 million over the next 3 seasons but he's still only 26 and a very good offensive big man. Can play next to Asik or back him up. Toronto doesn't need him with Jonas V coming over. But is Donatas already close enough to Bargnani at 1/6th the cost?

KMart and MMorris to MIL for Mike Dunleavy, Beno Udrih and Doron Lamb. Udrih and Mike Jr are expiring contracts like KMart. Can KMart play SF for the Bucks with Monta Ellis as their SG and Jennings at PG? That's a lot of bad defense. The point here for Houston would be to get D.Lamb who was a lights out shooter at UK and should have been a first rounder. J.Lamb would start at 2guard and D.Lamb would be his backup.

Personally i like my last idea as we get another good young prospect in Lamb. Udrih is a better backup for Lin than Douglas. Dunleavy can help Parsons learn to shoot better.

kevin can get his value back up then trade him midseason for a top 5-10 pick or something good, not a 2nd round pick he worth a lot more than that

His value will be his highest at the deadline. Trade for a pick and another expiring contract.

Kevin is only going to get his value up if he shoots a ton of shots, which will take away shots from our rookies and Parsons. No one is going to give up a 5-10 pick or something good for a 30 year old injury prone two guard who is about to be a free agent anyway.

D. Lamb was supposed to be a first round pick this year and would probably have been one in next year's draft. Look at his shooting at Kentucky:

Freshman year: 49.7% field goals, 48.6% three pointers, 79% free throws (12.3 ppg)
Sophomore year: 47.4% field goals, 46.6% three pointers, 82.6% free throws (13.7 ppg)

In the championship game vs Kansas he scored 22 points on 7 for 12 shooting ( 3 of 6 on 3 pointers)

if kevin can get back to his level, he's worth a top 10 pick at the least

I wish, but I don't see it. He's expiring. Can't see a team pull a "Nets trade" again. Never mind no team having a top-10 pick that might actually have a need for Kevin Martin.

Rockets trade Kevin Martin and Terrence Jones to Cleveland for center Anderson Verajao and Boobie Gibson. Gibson on an expiring contract. Verajao contract very easy to take on.

Verajao and Asik to handle the center position.

I see Kevin Martin in a Bucks jersey, but they already have Monta Ellis.

Trade him for a 1st round draft pick, to Chicago maybe? if they're planning for the future when Rose comes back. Bobcats could use a scorer. Golden State?

I think KMart could play small forward for Milwaukee. They don't really have anyone at the 3 except for Luc Mbah a Moute and Dunleavy.

Hard to trade with the Bulls because of their cap situation without us taking back Boozer, whom we don't want. I'm assuming they want to keep Rose, Deng and Noah. Rip Hamilton only makes $5 million so it wouldn't match up to KMart's deal.

Bobcats don't have much. We could trade Martin for Diop (expiring) and Gerald Henderson. We don't want Tyrus Thomas. They traded for Ben Gordon who makes the same money as Martin but has 2 years left instead of 1 so I don't think they would be interested in KMart.

Warriors - David Lee has a huge contract and 4 years left. Don't want. Biedrins has 2 years left and is too injury prone. Don't want. Richard Jefferson has 2 years left. Don't want. I would take a chance at Bogut (also 2 years left) but GS hasn't even played him yet since he was injured for all but 12 games. So i don't think they would trade Bogut yet since they gave up Monta for him. They also have Brandon Rush and Klay Thompson at shooting guard and Harrison Barnes at small forward so they don't really need K-Mart.

So the Bulls, Bobcats and Warriors are not a good trading partner for Martin/Houston.

first off **** flopajao

2nd, there can at least a few teams that could use kevin midway tino the season. he'd be perfect as a 6th scoring spark off the bench for a depe playoff team. a team fighting for the playoffs could get him as a starter to be playoff locks.

his contract shouldnt scare anyone. only pay half of that midseason

there has to be a few tems that need him or take a chance. he's too good to pas sup. trade him before training camp for godo value maybe. why did he have to suck it big time last season? if he did his job he wouldnt have a sore vagina, eh'd be on a playoff team dropping 20 a night, dumb ass

Do you really want him here pissing and moaning while poisoning the minds of our rookies against the organization?

The reason we didn't trade him earlier is because we needed his salary to match Dwight's. Now everyone's got there shooting guard situation pretty much addressed through trades and free agency and we are stuck with him.

the teams that can use him like Chicago are too way over the cap to get him without us taking back huge salary in return.

To Portland for: Wesley Mathews and Nolan Smith?

To Utah for: Hayward and Burk?

He'd be effective on both squads.

However, given the listed interview from Morey, he made a point of stating that injuries and rules changes have reduced Martin's effectiveness last year, but he also take the time to highlight Martin's professionalism. Morey probably thinks, or at least wants the fans to perceive Martin as a positive locker room presence much like the time when Martin became the de facto leader of the Kings after Artest was traded.

what is he gonna do here then? he either needs to get traded for good value, or get back to being a 20pt scorer

Im going to tell you a secret.

Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. You ready?

Dude stinks at basketball. He has no Basic basketball fundamental whatsoever. He is not someone you can give a bunch of shots to in order to inflate his value. He cant get a mother effiing shot off against nba defender. If you watched the last 2 seasons at all you know he cant dribble or shoot contested shot worth a damn.

When his contract is over he will get a mle type contract. He is still an elite 3 pt shooter when open. Thats about the only thing he can do nowadays.

Why would you want him to score 20 ppg? those shot attempts and play calls should be going to the kids. We aren't aiming for the playoffs and we aren't re-signing him so why keep him?

no no i dont want him to score 20 for us. im sayin if we keep him, he starts at sg and avg the same pts as last season but more efficiency

6-10th pick. im ok with 15-25. a 2nd round pick would be terrible

:o OMG if the rockets do this i'll jump into a pool full of acid lin asik bargnani :o :o :o my nightmare gets worst

i think the rockets should trade him to a team in the east(for expiring contracts) with the goal of keeping the raptors out of the playoffs
