I didn't see this posted and thought y'all might be interested in it. It's an insightful look at Royce White and draft night.

Royce White's candidness is a double edge sword. For every dime he has lost, I hope he makes 10 new fans.
Kudos to Coach Mchale for convincing the front office to take him at 16.
I hope he balls out of his mind in the next couple of years and make the 14 other teams look stupid.

If he cries everytime he boards a plane then... its going to be a long season for him.
The Dleague will be a nice place for him to start the year. I hear they take the buses to every game.

Oh the irony of a player who hates flying being drafted by the rockets is not lost on him. This was on his twitter:
http://t.co/fpKVU9JbHe's got a lot of siblings. It must feel pretty relieving to be able to help mom out immediately, especially given how close to be all thrown away just a few years ago.

It actually says a lot about his character to go through with his dream knowing he has the face his fear of flying for almost every game.

I like Royce. That documentary was quite interesting. I expect him to get good meds and a therapist... he should be fine. That said, I feel like the draft room was exaggerated. Why was he scored to go out in public? If anything that's actually normal for most people.... public/speaking anxiety.

D league is a waste of his talent. He's not a raw player like Marcus Morris who needs the d league to improve. I say he plays minutes off the bench first, and eventually become a starter. After a long season in the NBA, he'll get used to flying.
But the problem is not his basketball skillset which is promising , but it's his fear of flying and anxiety which looks pretty serious.

Looking at his shot and ft % he is pretty raw
I'm high on the mans potential, but some d-league time for him wouldn't be horrible (especially so he gets plenty of playing time which would be scarce if he started out on the rockets)

his FG percentage is 53 percent. That's not bad. His FT needs work. However, you improve your ft percentage at the gym, not the d league.
If you're talking about his weak jumpshooting ability. The 4th pick of the draft Thomas Robinson has weak jumpshooting ability. Didn't stop the kings from picking him.
I think Royce has an all round ability that we can use during the season. Far too valuable to throw him to the d league. But they have to figure out how to excel his strengths, and limit his weaknesses.

I'm cheering for the dude. I hope he gets enough minutes to show what he has to offer.
http://sportsoftheroundtable.com/2012/0 ... -who-goes/I wrote about ya'll team by the way, not a fan so I may not be 100% on my views, but thought you may want a fresh perspective on the team.

And the Kings have had competent management since... when?

Azn I said look at his shot and ft% not his fg%
I love the dude, too, but he will get more playing time in the d-league I feel
If I had my druthers the lineup would run
Lin/machado/dougie
Lamb/Martin/delfino
Parsons/white/Morris
motie/jones/white
Asik/pat pat/motie
Give all of our rookies parsons lin and asik most of the burn and tank like crazy (lin can play some 2 with machado at 1 rather than martin getting burn) but I don't think that's what we will do so d-league might be better for his development where he will play a lot

Let's not jump into conclusions. He hasn't even played an NBA game and kings made a bad pick?
The more questionable pick is the cavs fifth pick Dion waiters.
