PRESEASON GAME 1: Houston Rockets v. OKC Thunder

Post#1 » by TMACFORMVP » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:27 am

Anybody gonna watch? 8 PM EST tomorrow (Oct. 10th, 2012).

Royce isn't playing.

Preseason standard game-threads, FTW.

But, seriously, I'm excited to see some Rockets basketball again, especially the young guys.

its about cot dang time. i wanna see what lamb's long arms can do on an nba court (1.8spg, 1.3bpg rookie year :D ). watch omer asik and destroy. of corse our future superstar jeremy lin. and its fun to see the other team pissed off at kevin martin's flops...until he gets traded midseason to a team that actually needs him in return for a first rounder.

I'd love to watch it, but UVerse are dicks and haven't added the channel yet. If they haven't corrected this by the regular season I'm dropping them.

I'll do what I can, it might be on front row sports or somesuch. As it is only pre-season, I probably will have to settle for a highlights package.

yo

its on CSN which is channel 39 on comcast or 639 on comcast HD.

This year for some reason all rockets games are on CSN Instead of FSN.

Good luck!

CSN is the new Rockets/Astros network. The other providers are being little punks about their rival getting that dedicated network.

really excited to see this game! admittedly, this team is going to suck this year, but the progress it makes will definitely be interesting.

Nice, I don't get to watch the games. Thanks Suddenlink, you're the best. Now who must I kill to correct this situation?
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

I think it's more of Comcast trying to steal customers by setting the price really high.. I'm sure other companies will have it the first week of the regular season.

Yeah, the more I've thought about it that sounds right. I hated Comcast's service when I had them and I really have been pleased with Uverse. I'll wait it out for now.

First Row had the game and the commentating was okay.

A few things to take away from the Rockets side:

We will notice Terrence Jones play a lot. In fact, he was impossible to miss.
Jeremy Lamb also looked good in the pre-season.
Scott Machado might not make many buckets, but he's solid in transition and as a floor general.
Everyone who was a rookie went pretty hard (with the exception of those absent).
Royce of course didn't play. But I couldn't even find him on the bench. Somebody please tell me I am wrong.
Donuts was shaky from the get go but managed to help bring it home in the final stretch of the fourth quarter. Good stroke from 20 feet, could nail his fts, boarded well.
By the end of the 3rd quarter, the paint got a bit more physical. Cole Aldrich looked to have his presence felt. Morris hit the deck hard with Thabeet kicking him in the calf while contesting a shot. Morris went back to the locker room.

The normal starters were fine. They weren't really exerting themselves. This is really a test of their scrubs versus our new guys. We were down most of the game. Harden was having a bad day but Westbrook and Durant were doing whatever they wanted. They sat after mostly after the half and we started to recuperate. In the 4th quarter, we went on a 16-4 run in the beginning, stretching the lead to 9. Then we swapped baskets for a bit and they had a good run, but we withstood it. Won by 3.
