Houston natives...basketball fans: you know what I'm talking about!

Who's been down to Fonde to check out some of the pickup games? Who have you seen there?

I've managed to get by there a few times. Some of the hoops I witnessed was simply spectacular!

I know that Westside has picked up over the years, but when I think of Houston and hoops, Fonde is always what I think of first.

Kam - you make it over here and we'll get you into Fonde! ;)

...holy crap, I think I'm the only person here who has ever been there!

It's worth the trip if you're ever downtown - especially during the offseason!

Yeah, that would be fantastic to see. I don't care how broken down and decrepit my aging body is. I will play some pickup ball in the US, (not at Fonde, I know that's for serious ballers!) Even if I get owned by every player, and laughed off the court!!!!

Is was at mile 13 of an 18 mile run one Saturday morning in 2009. I had reached Allen Parkway and Sabine and nature called. Now if you've ever run you'll know the only thing worse than being hungry when you're runninig is needing to take a **** while you're running. So I walked down to Sabine and into Fonde. At that point I asked the 6-8 janitor if I could use the bathroom. He said sure and I took one of the most satisfying dumps in my life. I then went to see this mythical court where Moses Malone and Akeem Olajuwon did battle. Come to find out, one Saturday morning it's used for girls' volleyball.
