I'm a Lin fan, but Lin at this point probably needs Harden more than Harden needs Lin. Harden can handle the ball, can pass, can score, basically he can create for himself and others at a very very high level. He doesn't need Lin to create shots for him. The ones Lin find him are just extra points.
But Harden's presence as the franchise basically takes the big weight pressure off Lin. Lin is a gym rat, tremendous hard/smart worker, he thrived in world's biggest media city last season, but I think it's better for Lin to keep developing his game at a slower pace while Harden takes all the spotlight as opposed to being the face of franchise right away without Harden. Before the Harden trade, Lin was supposed to be the franchise which was a load of responsibility and pressure. Having Harden who is playing like a superstar now really allows him to mature his game step by step. It works the best for both, this is also time for Harden to take his game to next level, assume that superstar role.
