Can Harden keep this scoring pace up? I was pretty confident that James could never be the best player on a championship team. After this early season barrage I'm no longer sure. Can you build a championship team around James Harden as your best player? No way right?

At this point James Harden has played for 3 years and has yet to peak as a scorer and passer, let alone other facets of his game. He'll only get better in the next few years. Personally, I'm in wait and see mode.

he needs another scorer to help so teams won't double him.

I can't post threads yet so I'm going to post this here.

Title: James Harden is NOT inefficient

How many times have you heard someone call James Harden inefficient? I've heard/read it said several times, and this is something that should never happen, because these people aren't just wrong, they couldn't be any further from the truth. If we take a closer look at Harden's efficiency (there's so much that FG% doesn't tell us), while acknowledging the fact he's a high volume scorer and capable passer, we will notice that he is actually among elite company--I can't stress enough how impressive this is.

25+ points, 60%+ TS, 5.8+ assists, has happened 9 times. Jordan twice, Lebron thrice, Wilt once, Bird twice, Harden once.

But don't just take my word for it. Here's a recent article I came across: http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/ ... reat/?_r=0

For those who don't understand what TS% is (true shooting percentage), it's like FG% but it accounts for the value of free throws and 3's. 37% from 3 is equivalent to 55.5% from mid-range. For contrast, a great mid-range shooter like LaMarcus Aldridge makes 41% of his 7.3 shots from 16-23 feet. Read those last 2 sentences over and let it soak in...

So there you have it. Not only is James Harden efficient, he's UBER efficient.
