Can anyone suggest some good Rockets sites/boards?
Lock this if this isn't appropriate here -- but are there any good Rockets sites and boards? It's not very active here, unfortunately.
I know Clutchfans is the biggest, but honestly can't stand that place. Hideous, hard to look at design, piss poor moderation, filled with race baiting and garbage threads.
I'm really spoiled by RealGM.

Clutchfans is a good site - so is ultimaterockets.
The only thing you need to keep in mind is on Clutchfans - if the older members don't like you - expect to catch flak there. Also if they don't like you - or a post you make they do oftentimes permanently ban and delete people.
They banned me the other day for posting a break-down of the final 5 minutes of the Trailblazer game. Still its a great site - was going to donate some money from my last paycheck to them til they banned me.
I'd rather participate here - where its less divisive and you aren't a 2nd class citizen just because you registered in 2012 anyways hehe
One more caveat - kate upton and bikini babes are a nono there.

Yah. More or less its not like other forums. I've gotten into it on various Knicks and other forums (NFL) and never been banned or had people complain about posting pictures of girls in bikinis or Kate Upton dancing. Plus they track IP addresses, so they banned my new account I made to just politely make reply posts and participate

So I've given up on that forum

I find this funny. Only because Americans are generalised as being the loudest advocates of the right to freedom of speech, IMO.
Freedom of speech, as long as you follow the general consensus. Violence is okay, but no nudity, or swearing. This is just a generalised perception from an Aussie though. And I mean no offense, I know I am stereotyping etc, and that the people that post on the Rockets GM board are DEFINATELY NOT like this.
And Mr.E is a demi god. (Sorry, Mr.E, you can never be god, that slot is reserved for Olajuwon!!!!!!)
I think I should go to clutchfans and get myself banned. It might be good for a laugh.

Hahaha.. well, do come back ~ the realgm boards are good - albeit sometimes quiet. I'm sure that it will grow as the Rockets grow though.

Same here. F clutchfans.net. Clutch (the founder) and his old boys club are quite the sensitive bunch. All I did was point out that his officially published tweet was wrong (about Lin giving up 11 points to Lillard in the last 5 minutes when it was really only 2 points, kind of a big difference). Clutch bans me for a year (essentially permanently), no warnings or anything, for a "personal attack". Sorry, but that's not even close to a "personal attack", I didn't call him or anyone a name.
Just look at this post by one of the old boys:
"Newb. This is his [Clutch the founder's] site and his house. you are his guest, act like one."
BTW, Kinein, I read your post (before it taken down immediately) about the last 5 minutes of the Blazers game, it was solid.

Interesting how you hate that site so much, yet you still lurk there...(Tinman posted that comment today).

Re: Can anyone suggest some good Rockets sites/boards?
A few things I do want to touch on with this thread.
I will not discourage anyone from discussing other websites and places to discuss Rockets basketball. If I had done that myself I would never have found this place. No, this isn't the most active board out there, but I do like the motley little crew of misfits that we have around here, and I encourage new voices to speak up and participate.
As far as I'm concerned, the more discussion about the Rockets the better. My personal goal is to see Rockets Talk replacing Porn as the Internet's primary function, but we may be a couple years away from that.
Something that I really, really want to avoid - in regards to other sites - is that I don't want our little corner of the internet to become a place where people just create an account to bitch about some other little corner of the internet. This comment is not directed at anyone in this thread - I get and pretty much agree with most of what has been said. I just do not want people angry with other sites coming over here just to complain about those other sites. I want people to come here to talk some Rockets hoops, some Power Dancers, some Butts & Struts and the fact that the Houston Rockets are hellbent and determined to make me suffer on some level.
GO ROCKETS!!!

Freedom of Speech applies to the federal and state congresses.
Its purpose is to allow us to speak of government intrusions and protest policies and corruptions, etc. It's perfectly fine if you aren't aware of either of these points as most of us aren't either.
While it's a nice idea outside of limiting legislative action, reality does exist.
Also, no matter what the rule, idea, notion, or whatever else is, it can be deconstructed and made to look ridiculous. Ask any comic.

haha, I was surprised anyone got to read it. Sorry to hear that it happened to you as well. I was just surprised it happened. Not interested in attacking anyone on any other forums or trying to talk about their sites. So this thread is the first and last time I mention it.
