McHale status uncertain. Should Rockets go for plan B?

Post#1 » by dunleavyjr » Mon Nov 19, 2012 8:31 am

Kevin McHale is not necessarily a bad coach, but Rockets can be a bad team without him. Is there any update on him? He's been on family leave for sometime. A reasonable guess would be somebody in his family is battling an illness, and thus forcing him time away from coaching. The thing is, though, the Rockets can't go on like this, losing games after games. The NBA, especially the Western Conference, is pretty competitive.

At some point, the bleeding has to stop. Sometimes, 1 game could make a world of difference during the battle for the 8th seed. Should the Rockets go for plan B? Example, new coaching staff. I mean, it works for the Lakers.

Yes, absolutely. If McHale is going to be on leave indefinitely, the Rockets can't have Sampson as head coach, losing all these games. The Lakers game wasn't winnable, but several of them were quite winnable if not for weird coaching decisions, like sitting Asik in the final minutes.

Pretty sure that "Plan B" is Chris Finch.
