Knick fan here in peace..

NY media has been pretty dismissive of Lin. Obviously there is a lot of articles today about how much Lin has struggled but I was wondering how you guys in Houston felt about his play thus far. I've been blogging about the Knicks this season and am hoping to get some feedback on Houston fans on Lin's play to give a different perspective. Here's to a great game

He's great when he isn't overthinking the game.

He is the same player he was in NY, which is to say he is terrible.

Well New York media is pretty stupid. Links the wrong person to put pressure on. Chandler parsons and James harden is. Better yet, they should focus on the Houston rockets beating them without a head coach. Lins been inconsistent, his strength is pick and roll, which can't capitalize since asik can't finish much

Jeremy Lin is not a very good Shooting guard. He needs to play PG but the Rockets aren't letting him.

Every time I've watched the Rockets this year to see how Jeremy is doing, I've noticed this.

What's the deal with that?

While there's some truth to this, he hasn't played all that well as a PG either. He lacks requisite skills to play the position (secure ball handling, instinctive passing ability, shooting). Last season he was able to compensate by being ultra aggressive, but not this season, even though he has had ample opportunity, despite what his delusional fanatical fans think. You even saw it tonight, driving in, unable to beat his man, picking up his dribble in no-mans land, getting stuck, desperately waiting for someone to cut to get open for a bail out pass...Blowing easy point blank layups at the rim...

In a recent article he hinted that his knee is still not all the way there.
“I’ve been exposed a lot early on in the season and have a lot to work on,’’ Lin said. “I’m young. I’ve started 30-something games my entire career. It’s something I have to keep in mind. I’ve felt better before bit it’s just a process. We have three days off after (tomorrow) and there’s a lot of things I’m going to do for my leg, knee just explosive stuff we’ll work on.’’

What should have been a 6 week recovery is going on 30+ weeks?

When he had the surgery, a doctor not involved in Lin's surgery told BSPN that his knee should be fine six weeks after surgery unless they find something else in there, like arthritis, for example. Playing Dr. House here, but that fits the facts. His knee must be arthritic, hence the lack of full recovery when it should have recovered months ago.

What's the long term prognosis for athletes with arthritic knees? I have no idea.

What's the recovery time? Do athletes recover from arthritic knees? Trying to think of athletes who had arthritic knees....

Wasn't Ralph Sampson forced to retire due to arthritic knees?

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I wrote this a day ago but would like to keep better tabs on him through the year other than looking at box scores.

agree...he is much effective this way and gets him some easier looks for his shot too when needed. He isn't as effective standing around to watch Harden do his thing...they need to have plays where Lin gets the ball to Harden on screens, curls, etc.

I still like him despite his shooting woes and think he's going to be a good player for us. In case y'all haven't noticed, it's still early on in the season...You see certain guys (like Mayo) having insanely hot starts and then you see others (like Lin) struggling early on trying to get adjusted. Give the kid some freaking time...It's especially ironic when certain fans who've gotten on others for not showing patience with other young Rox players seem to have a totally different standard when it comes to Lin...

While we are sort of on the topic...please tell me Marcus Camby showed a pulse in his short time on the Rockets? I'm terrified by what I've seen so far

camby will always be a solid backup 4/5 till he retires. just be patient. camby took the starting center spot from dalembert last season. and most rocket fans wanted him to resign, and it wasnt far fetched to think he'd resign for the vet min 2-3 years.

knicks got a lotta competetion at the 5 with chandler, sheed, and thomas. camby's too old to bust through that competiion lol

Marcus Camby was a rock and strong defender/rebounder the guy hustled and was solid. I still remember when he barrled through Landry Fields last year and got a technical 1 for it.

Isn't Woodson saying that Camby is out-of-shape and not up to playing? I expect to see Camby getting minutes - especially with the rebound problem the Knicks have now discovered. Unless there are larger issues with Camby now.

I'm feeling great about Lin. He finally has climbed to the top of the hump. 50% shooting again FINALLY~ some people seem to believe that Lin was contained, shut down, put on LOCK I see all the hard work and effort and actual ability - finally translating back onto the court during game-time. This is PHENOMENAL.

Rockets just got even deadlier!
