Drink it up ~ book mark this thread if you want to watch this highlight recap at a latter date.

......................................

So I'm calling this game from now on - the WHUPPIN, inspired from Carmelo Anthony's quote, that was an old-fashioned ass whooping.

131 - 103 Knicks whom were being discussed as #1 in the League just received a rude awakening.

Key talking points up to the game were:

Lin was going to be utterly embarrassed.
DEFENSIVE GENIUS Woodson was going to lead the new half-court down-tempo Knicks for an easy win to prep for the Detroit Piston
Felton was going to show that he was superior to Lin.

Result - winning!

I've been reading in the Knicks forums that they "shut lin down and all this other stuff..."

Except they haven't followed Lin at all then.. with Lin hitting under 30% - and now finally hitting 50%

THIS IS HUGE.

Harden had an AWESOME SHOWING

Parsons FINALLY hes getting more touches when hes hot. Like I said when he had a 80% shooting night, the guy needs to get the ball more.

The ball must follow the energy and the hot hand!

really loved the performances by all the Rockets. From Cook up to Asik.

130 points on the Knicks who are considered in the top 5 of the NBA with many analysts pegging them as top 3.

Hell, all I've heard is #1 talk.

This was a huge win for us and I don't have anything against Sampson resting Lin after he put in 34 minutes.

If anything despite disagreeing with Sampson at times - It was a good decision not to wear out our team, and let everyone get minutes in in the largest scoring feat in the league this season.

Toss back the drinks laddies, its time to celebrate

Glad to see the things I am picking up with the occasional game analysis is starting to come together game by game.

This is absolutely huge - Parsons will continue to break scoring records as long as he gets the ball when he is hot. Like LBJ - once he is hot, he can shoot it from anywhere. Harden and Lin and Douglas - provide an interesting 3-headed guardmix that allows Sampson to tailor to what he feels work best.

i could write about all the players on and on but right now i just want to rewatch the game lol

If you read the similar thread in the Knicks they do their darnest best to lament the loss by not mentioning Lin's name. I mean they try to behave as if he never existed at all now that they got their ass whupped.

It's good to see Raymond Felton overachieving at the moment. He'll come back down to earth in a next couple months.

i know this feeling won't last too long with this young of a team so i am enjoying every second of it

for some reason we have had the knicks number the last few years...worrell said the stat in the last 15 games against them we are 14-1

i really do love the knicks and root for them, but it is so funny on their board when they lose(especially a game like this) because of all their knee jerk posters (thats what happens when you have so many posters i guess)

not all their posters are like that, but they have about 10x more knee jerk reaction posters than any other team on the site

Kelvin Sampson wrote:Chandler’s just a winner. When he’s in the groove that he’s in right now, he’s just riding it. He took some shots tonight that last year if I’d have known he was taking those shots this year I probably would have thrown him off the bus. But that’s confidence, man, and he’s worked at it.

Chandler has incredible intangibles. Some guys have all this talent and you wonder why they can’t put it all together, well they don’t do any of the little things. Chandler has always been great at the little things but he’s learning how to play off the bounce with size. Out of time outs I run pick-and-rolls for him. He’s not used to that, but we’ve convinced him that he can and he does. He’s playing pick-and-roll and he’s passing, and I think the more Jeremy and James and Chandler attack, that opens up our offensive rebounding because when we get in the paint, that means we beat somebody and then somebody’s got to help uphill.

It seems like I'm the only Knick fan that realizes this.

Haha, glad I was right. Although I couldn't have imagined this extreme of an outcome. Parsons with 26 and Harden with 25 at the half??? Must be Kinein's game threads or something. =)

The only caveat I have from this game is that the Rockets got super hot from 3 pt range. I prefer not to be a team that lives and dies by the 3. Other than Harden and Asik, no one else was drawing much fouls.

hmm i wouldnt say it was all about 3s the last night... almost every possession was decently played...

I noticed there was really good spacing in the game, it helped a lot with ball movement, and making that extra pass.

Carmelo Anthony, the next DPOY said no one ever!!!!

I would have benched him for his Tech that he got when Patterson dunked it.

I thought this was an interesting article, giving some facts/stats about how the Knicks' vaunted defense has been exposed. Which also makes me wonder if the Rockets play against other teams that are tough against isos, will the Rockets be able to play a different style?

"One reason the Knicks were so effective with their rotations was because their opponents ran more pick-and-roll/spread-out schemes. But the Mavericks and Rockets ran more isolation plays -- and the Knicks couldn't defend them. In fact, they're allowing a league-high 1.04 points per isolation, the worst mark in the league.

The Knicks won't be facing star slashers like Harden every night, but even Parsons, a second-year forward, got in on the action. Now opponents have added "weaker defending isolations" on their scouting report on the Knicks."

that explains a lot. they could solve that problem by giving brewer more minutes. and when shumpert returns those two could make up most of the knicks defense

I've added this to the initial post - but drink it up guys.

If anyone watches this. Things to note.

1st time I've ever seen Toney Douglas really just smile and enjoy himself (end of third Q as he is talking to Lin after his 3pt shot (assist Lin)

Also in the 4th toward the end you see TD do the same dribble then step back for the 3pt that I see Harden do all the time.

Kudos to TD for improving his game.

Kudos to the entire team as well. Made a note of some things on Harden and anyone thats read any of the GT and Post Game threads knows i repeatedly preach about how efficient Parsons is - madgunner. Banging it from anywhere on the court.

Course Asik Lin and everyone else in the team did well and so its a total team celebration still!
