The most shocking move in the NBA offseason. KMART and HARDEN trade places! These are our storylines...

Ahh OKC Memories
Image

But it is important to remember that this team took the hard road. They flew to Minneapolis to attend Sasha McHales Funeral and today afterwards they will fly down to OKC at 3pm. (or arrive) not exactly sure on the details. Either way emotions are going to be high - and I think at least for Houston there is going to be a sense of perspective and basketball will be seen in a different context - at least for 1 day - as they leave for the OKC game.

Due to work and my birthday I'm going to probably have to keep this thread more of a continuation of yesterdays GT.

Briefly say thank you to Jenna Shae silently for nursing Harden back to health.

JAMES "BEARD" HARDEN - aka DADDY to all the gorgeous strippers in Houston

Image
Harden continues to RAZZLE & DAZZLE fans as he dishes and swishes for the Rockets. Harden continues to be one of the bedrocks of the team as each game adds another facet of chemistry to the starting lineup. As each player gels with the rest of his team - we are starting to see more and more flow, more easy baskets, them just playing basketball and having fun. THIS IS IT FOLKS! THIS IS THE BEGINNING.
Look for more magic be it dishing or swishing as he continues to make a name for himself as a starter.

Prior to the passing of Sasha McHale I think this game would have been more amped up for the Rockets but expect Harden to compete. Expect his teammates to want to compete for him.

The guy's putting in SOME WORK. I think everyone in Houston local needs to donate to the cause and thank Jenna Shae.

CHANDLER BANGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Image

ImageImage
STOP THE PRESSES - DO WE REALLY NEED TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER "STAR" WHEN WE HAVE ONE ALREADY? Parsons SHREDDED the Knicks and has already hit for 80% from ANYWHERE 2 games ago! I've been banging walls, starting forest fires in the MINDS of Rocket Fans - to RECOGNIZE THE GREATNESS WE HAVE ALREADY. BELIEVE IN THE BANG!

Whenever Chandler scores a girl goes into the pose
Image
If anyone pays attention to the team outside of the game - in the moments in between, you can see the chemistry buildin ~ be excited.
- Bits and pieces from Knicks fans in response.
* Who is this guy?
* I knew we should have drafted him!
* Why do the knicks let no names have career games against them!

Guess none of them read my game threads!

Patrick PATTERSON aka SPIDERMAN!
Image
at times I think PatPat has his position on LOCK - and then other times. I don't
20 minutes last game : 5-7, 3 personal fouls put a damper on his ability to play more minutes.
* Some may say that Patx2 played poorly in the beginning and only scored in garbage minutes toward the end. Thats up to you to decide. I'm leaving the jury out on this one.
* Also as Sampson really likes a lot of the rookies - he continues to experiment with the floor and mixes and matches based on whomever is on the floor. Therefore PatPat had a positive contribution. Though his defense has been noted as suspect due to him supposedly playing soft. +12 during his time on the floor I would say the jury is still out and as is noted. Give this team at least half a season before you call for the tar and feathers.

Keep on ballin PATPAT! show us how you can improve!

OMER ASIK ~
Image
THE LEGEND OF ASIK GROWS. MONSTER FORCE ON THE BOARDS ~ One that quietly has developed an offensive game and started to hit free throws regularly. Causing trouble just recently for DPOY Tyson Chandler - expect to see Omer grow and get even stronger as his body adjusts to playing STARTER minutes (I give it another 6-8 weeks)
With 14 rebounds last game - he continues to operate over his 11.9 rebs per game.
Hitting 6-8 free throws last game, this marks a CONTINUING IMPROVEMENT as he went 0-2 and 2-6 the last 2 games prior to the Knicks whuppin
Be excited, be very excited.

Omer and the Rockets leave the Knicks behind to contemplate the reunion in December at Madison Square Garden.

Toney Douglas!!

against the Knicks 3-6 for 50% from the field and 3/4 from beyond the arc..
Image
TD continues to find his groove. Last year he was almost feltonesque - This year he is returning to his potential!
Image
Hitting shots and becoming the SOLUTION to tough problems on Sampsons mind.
It was interesting to see TD and Lin playing the floor together - Sampson continues to experiment!

Marcus Morris
Image
* This guy HUSTLES, he's got size and height, and is in pretty good shape - his HUSTLE and ability to shoot the 3, and beast it out for rebounds against ANYONE - hybrid - big man hybrid right herrrrrrr. Him and Greg Smith.. wooooo when they get seasoned enough - start expecting fireworks.
* work, more work, Morris continues to need to build his confidence, build chemistry and rapport with his teammates, and have that swagger of a PRO Athlete. He's young like the rest of the team and theyre still discovering their identity - but given time Morris is going to very well see extended minutes regardless of whether he starts or is on the bench.

Terrence Jones

Screw pictures - Just use this for the rest of the season.
* You know your going to see more playtime for TJones ~ TJs proven with that alone - that he deserves to play. Confidence swag and gutsy attack.

Greg Smith
Image
* Energy and Hustle
* I'd post up a video of a dunk montage but there isn't one on youtube yet - the guy is a bad slamajama. This - in between blinks = lots of extra dunks. Great presence to have on the court even for limited minutes. He makes the most out of it!

Questionable.

James Harden insisted again and again that his first game against the Oklahoma City Thunder will be just another game. He was not sure how he would feel Wednesday when he returns to Chesapeake Energy Arena and that uber-exuberant crowd roars, he said, but he didn’t think he would be more emotional than in any other game.

“I’m on the road trying to get a win,” Harden said Tuesday. “That’s no different than when we played at Memphis or Atlanta or whatever the case may be.”

Harden was dealt to the Rockets days before the start of the regular season when he could not come to an agreement on a contract extension with the Thunder. The Rockets signed him to a five-year, $80 million max deal. He said he never expected to leave Oklahoma City after the trip to the NBA Finals last season or through the summer on the Olympic team with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but he refuses to consider the game special.

“To be honest, I don’t even know,” he said. “It will be good to see some faces, some old teammates and coaches. They’re all my family. I look forward to every single game I play. It’s just another game.”

But guard Daequan Cook, who was traded with Harden and Cole Aldrich in the deal, said Harden will be especially driven Wednesday.

“He’s going to be in a different zone,” Cook said. “At the end of the day, if anybody knows, I know this game means a lot to him. He’s going to want to play his best basketball. This game means so much right now to him. You’re going to see a different mindset with him.

“It’s going to be crazy, man. Crazy emotional and very energetic on both sides of the floor for both teams.”

Thunder coach Scott Brooks also disputed the idea that players don’t hold a grudge when playing the team that traded them, calling on his experience of getting dealt to Dallas by the Rockets for Morlon Wiley in 1995.

“It’s not another game,” Brooks told media in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, playing with the notion of a reunion game for Harden, Kevin Martin and others in the trade. “I want to beat the Rockets. They traded me in the second championship year.

“It took me five years to get over Rudy Tomjanovich. Now we’re best buddies. But yeah, it’s still personal.”

Patterson doesn’t dispute flopping

Patrick Patterson did not remember flopping against the Knicks’ Tyson Chandler, but when friends called to say the NBA had issued a warning, Patterson saw the video and had no argument. Another violation would draw a $5,000 fine.

“I had no remembrance of that play,” Patterson said. “I went back and watched it. It looked like it clearly was a flop. I got a warning. I definitely don’t want to get a fine. I did it. Obviously, clear proof of it with video evidence. I’ll focus on (drawing) a real charge next time.”

Well, OKC is favored by 10 points.

I'm sure that OKC will be focused on shutting Harden down. I hope that Harden will not get overly caught up in showing up his former team. If he get double/triple teamed, Harden must kick it out to his teammates and not turn the ball over. I think over the past 2 games, Parsons, Lin, Patterson, Asik, Morris have earned his trust to be able to score.

It's going to be a tough game, I think the keys to a Rockets win is that Westbrook has an off night shooting and chucks up a bunch of jumpers and 3s, definitely have to keep him out of the paint. And the Rockets need to hit their outside shots to open up the middle for Harden and Lin.

I would hate it if Pumpfake beat us.

He only scores from open 3s, cherry picking on long rebound and jumping into people for FT. Put a friggin hand in his face and he can't do ****. If Martin scores more than 15 points on us, the team oughta be ashamed of themselves.

Looks like pumpfake has been shaming the entire league for 7 years now... been averaging over 15ppg since his 3rd year.
