Harden/Tyreke

Post#1 » by Zubby » Fri Dec 7, 2012 7:17 pm

I love having Harden, but just wanted to compare the two as I know everyone here was excited around the draft when we heard Morey was trying to trade for Tyreke.

We all know Reke was in a bad fit in Sacramento

Harden is the better shooter/scorer and the bigger name now.
Tyreke is the better dribbler and defender. Taller & younger... by a month haha

I'd take Martin over Tyreke.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

worst poll ever!

Rockets fans were excited about Tyreke??

Also, I'm sure Harden's a better golfer than Tyreke. This would be useful for charity purposes.

Harden is clearly the better overall player now, but certainly Evans has the edge athletically and thus a higher ceiling. But considering Evans lack of development with the number of years he's been in the league (he has no jumpshot as a SG!) there really isn't an excuse for him anymore. Harden's complete lack of defense is kind of starting to bother me though.

Tyreke is getting things together right now and he's really not looking too bad. He is going to be in for a payday somewhere. He is a bad fit with Sacramento right now and the culture there isn't great. Personally if I was looking at Evans I would look at him to either be my point guard or my point SF. You take the ball out of his hands and he is not as effective. His struggles and learning to play without the ball some are probably a good thing for the next team that gets him. He'd fit nicely on the rockets right now.

Sacramento tried Evans at PG for a few years and that was a failed experiment.

tyreke sucks. He doesnt have the vision harden has. He's been playing worst this season too. (contract year)/
first year , he stat padded through his 20 5 5 rookie stat. He sacrificed his team wins, just to fulfill his 20 5 5 average. which was disrespect to the game and his team. However he has regressed this season, and isn't even capable of doing 20 5 5..

I think tyreke can be a good player in the nba, but not a leader who can carry a team into wins.

Harden has proven he can help the team win, and make others around him better(something tyreke cant). Harden is all star category, tyreke is not this season, or ever.

so bad comparison , especially how much tyreke has regressed this season.

No I do not think Tyreke has regressed... he just shoots less, plays less minutes, & has the ball less in his hands.
Sacramento as a whole is just a bunch of parts that don't fit.

Reke has consistently shot at 45% which isn't bad, always better than Harden.
He is also a much better defender, every night he gets the opposing teams best perimeter player. I know they switched him on to Lowry last week when he started going off.

Harden doesn't play defense...

He averages 9 fewer ppg, but he takes 5 fewer shots, and plays 6 minutes less a game. So yea offensively he is a step behind Harden but everywhere else I give the edge to Evans. Play making ability they are even.

IMO Tyreke will probably be the better of the two in the long run.

Anyway I think we see a trade soon as Tyreke has been benched for a while... maybe its to the Lakers for Pau

Yea the dude needs a change of scenery. He'd be a nice improvement over Lin and Harden and Evans could share ball handing responsibilities.

The guy above me is clueless. How in the world do you want Tyreke as the main ballhandler. Kings tried that for all the seasons. They've had the most losing season when Tyreke was the PG. Why do you think they're trying to change his role and limit him as a pg this season? Because it DIDNT work. What makes you think it will work for the Rockets? you're clueless. LIn is a better facilitator than Reke ever will be.

Oh please the Kings are just a bad team... no need to just dump it on the one guy. According to your logic a guy like Billups never would have gone on to win a Finals MVP and NBA championship as a point guard. I really liked Billups at Colorado but he really had trouble figuring it out and it took a few teams for him to mature and find the right fit.

Now Tyreke as a rookie PG averaged 5.8 APG and 3 TPG in 37.2 MPG. Last year Lin averaged 6.2 APG and 3.6 TPG in 27 MPG.

I stand by what I think and that is that a back court of Tyreke and Harden would be an improvement over what you have now. I also think Tyreke and Harden should SHARE handling responsibilities.

Tyreke Evans? Seriously guys?

James Harden is a complete basketball player. His offensive game is as good as anyone in the league right now.

I dont even.....

Just realized this board has no Harden fanboys... seriously doesnt he deserve some crazed obsessive fans?

White McGrady/Jordan aka Vspan had them
Lin has mass amounts of them, it cray
Dmo had quite a few but it looks like they have abandoned him til he plays
Even Kevin Martin had that lone fanboy who thought Martin was gonna lead the league in scoring or something.(He left when NY got Melo)

Also where are all the Turkish Asik fans? I guess he has none.

I'll wait til ASG and if we don't get any Harden fanboys, i'll post an ad on craigslist.
