James Harden: A Plus
Exceeded my already lofty expectation. Legitimate Allstar closer.

Omer Asik: A Minus.
Know how it feels when you buy something and it comes just as good as advertised? Yea Omer is like that. Tremendous rebounder/interior defender with Stone hand and poor touch around the rim. Still Good enough for Top 4-8 Center in the NBA so i take that any day.

Jeremy Lin: B Minus
Consistency issue and Poor outside shooting makes him a less than ideal fit with the team. But he's a good all around PG that does all the little things. Is prone to making head scratching turnovers but does have good size for PG and better defensively than advertised.

Chandler Parsons: A minus
Has noticeably improved has scoring ability and probably one of the team's most indispensable member. Rocket's best perimeter defender. Without Parsons versatility this team would be in big trouble.

Patrick Patterson: C minus
In my opinion the most disappointing member of the Rockets. I had high hopes for Patterson after Scola's exile. But he's been the same player; passive, inconsistent, and still not rebounding. His money J isn't even falling anymore.

Marcus Morris: C plus
Didn't expect him to contribute so what little he does on the court is a treat. His role on the team is a floor spacing 4. Doesn't do much of anything else tho....

Carlos Delfino: B
I've criticized him before for taking turrible shots but someone needed to shoot. The Rockets bench isn't very deep. Carlos Delfino IS the Rockets bench. When his 3s fall, the Rockets are hard to beat. When it doesn't.... its ulgy.

Toney Douglas: B Minus
Horrific start to the season but has played better recently. The team's best 3pt shooter statistically. Active plus defender.

Greg Smith: A minus
Biggest surprise of the season. Among our bigs, he is the only one capable of consistently catching and finishing PnR plays. Great finisher, above average rebounder.

Donatas Motiejunas: Incomplete

Terrance Jones: Incomplete

Patrick Beverley: Incomplete

James Anderson: Incomplete

Cole Aldrich: C
Big body

Royce White: Incomplete

Coach Kevin McHale: B
Team has performed better than expected. Make no mistake about it, this is still a very flawed ball club. A good team shouldn't have to rely so heavily on a streaky career journeyman like Delfino off the bench. This is the youngest team in the league without a legitimate 2nd option.

Its not a team built to win. I dont feel that the Rockets will have a stable roster until after the offseason. Half of the guys on this team right now wont be here this time next year. As a team without 4 of its top scorer from last year and what amounts to a completely new team, you have to give Mchale credit for keeping this ball club at above .500.

GM Daryl Morey: A minus
Its hard to grade Morey without having seen his what he does over the trade deadline. Thats like grading students before the finals. For now its an A minus. Harden, Smith, Asik, Lin and Delfino were all positive moves.

James Harden- A-: exactly what I thought he was going to be on offense and more. The problem? Not a lot of people talk about it but his defense has been below average and it's due more to lack of effort than lack of ability. He has stepped it up recently though

Asik- B+: Now that he's learning to DUNK THE BALL I'm happy with him. Definitely exceeding my expectations especially when you consider how many minutes we make him play. Offense still isn't there but he doesn't need to be cousins to score in our lineup. Asik also gets lost on rotations too much(just like the rest of our team).

Lin- B: Lin is a better defender/creator than I thought he was. He's also a worse shooter/offensive player than I thought he was. I think the biggest thing he's lacking is confidence and he needs to force the action sometimes.

2Pat- B: Definitely worked hard on his shot during the off-season. Lacks consistency and needs to rebound/play better help d

Morris- B: Same thing as 2 Pat

Parsons- B: he has a consistency issue as well. Falling in love with the 3 too much, he's best suited as a slasher/situational 3 point shooter until he improves his shot. Always guards the best player though so props on that

Delfino- B+: I'll be the first to admit I laughed at the delfino signing. Not because he's a bad player, I just didn't think it mattered at all. Boy was I wrong, there have been a couple games we wouldn't have won without him stepping up. He still guns too much but when he's hot he's hot

Overall so far the midterm averages according to the board:

Harden = A, 4.00 (some **** ALMOST ruining Harden's perfect score with an A- but Guy saved it :) )
Asik = A-, 3.6
Lin = C+, 2.5
Parsons = A, 3.7
Patterson = C, 2.1
Morris = B-, 2.6
Douglas = C+, 2.5
Delfino = B-, 2.8
Smith = B+, 3.5
McHale = B-, 2.9
Morey = A, 3.8
White = F, 0.0 Probation
Aldrich = D+, 1.5

Overall Team score of a 2.7 solid B-... not bad

Not including White & Aldrich scores we get a gpa of 3.1 a strong B.

Carlos Delfino: A-
Toney Douglas: B

Based on expectations and salary.

James Harden: B+. His per-game stats are outstanding, but his efficiency and defense are not "A" caliber considering that he is a max contract $80M man. 43.6% FG, 32.8% 3pt, 4.0 to/g, and lack of defense are why he didn't get the A. Needs to be less Kobe and more Lebron.

Omer Asik: A. Averaging a double-double in reb/pts. There's only 4 centers and 10 players in the league who have 10+ reb/pts, and they're all making way more $ than Asik. Just needs to improve catching the ball and PNR skills and he'd have an A+.

Jeremy Lin: B-. Despite falling short of high expectations, his productivity actually puts him in the middle third of the PGs in the league. Pts/G #18, FG% #16, Ast/G #14, Stl/G #3, Blk/G #3, Reb/G #6. When the Rockets signed Harden, Lin's greatest strength (being a slashing, distributing PG) was negated by Harden. Instead Lin was asked to be a catch and shoot player, which was his greatest weakness. Needs to improve 3pt shooting obviously, and be more consistent on a day-to-day basis.

Chandler Parsons: A. White LBJ, nuf said. He can do everything, score on offense, as well as the defensive shutdown player. Oh, and he's making near-minimum salary.

Patrick Patterson: B. He takes a lot of flak, but he has a better pts/min, fg%, ft%, reb/min, blk/min, to/min, and nearly the same 3pt% as Morris.

Marcus Morris: C. He takes way too many 3 ptrs. I hate the stretch 4. Morris takes 3 ptrs almost as often as Ray Allen.

Carlos Delfino: A. He knocks down 3 ptrs. And I like his attitude. Great for some firepower off the bench, he can change a game if he's hot.

Toney Douglas: B. I thought he'd be cut before the season, but he regained his 3pt shooting thankfully. Good defense and 3pt shooting, so perfect player to come off the bench. Not a PG or 2 pt shooter though (one of the worst 2 pt % in the league).

Greg Smith: A. Just play him more minutes already!

Donatas Motiejunas: INC
Terrance Jones: INC
Patrick Beverley: INC
James Anderson: INC
Cole Aldrich: INC

Royce White: A+ for tweeting proficiency. F for playing basketball.

Coach Kevin McHale: C. This team has shown the potential and talent to be a .600 team, so McHale has fallen short of that. McHale has not utilized his players strengths properly, and has not established a consistent rotation halfway through the season.

GM Daryl Morey: A-. Good core of young players. Maybe it would have been better to have a couple of veterans on the team.

James Harden A- Has been awesome offensively, obviously. Still wish he'd spend more effort on D at times.

Omer Asik B -- Kills us on offense every now and then, but as advertised on D and even better on the boards.

Jeremy Lin C -- He's ok.

Chandler Parsons B -- A bit inconsistent and streaky with his J. Also not as good on D as last year. Still quite valuable to the team, obviously.

Patrick Patterson C -- Could be useful if he wasn't so goddamn inconsistent and soft around the rim.

Marcus Morris C- -- Eh. Not a big fan of his. A few good games here and there, but just don't think he adds much, really.

Carlos Delfino B+ -- Will take some dumb shots, but adds a lot to the team.

Toney Douglas B+ -- Rocky start. Since then very good.

Greg Smith B+ -- At times not totally focused, otherwise very good.

Patrick Beverley A- -- Love him.

Cole Aldrich C -- He's OK. Decent 3rd big.

Royce White A -- A great humanitarian.

Coach Kevin McHale B- -- Some good, some bad. The team is over-archiving, though, so...

GM Daryl Morey B+ -- Hasn't acquired enough PFs IMO and might have overpaid to get Lin. Otherwise pretty good.

I'm unsure what to grade Patterson. From a standpoint of what I was expecting; I had very little hopes for Patterson entering this season after his abysmal efficiency and horrible rebounding last year. This season, he's somehow managed to rebound at a lower rate (playing less center, I suppose), but he's tremendously improved his efficiency -- with a large part due to the added three point game. And defensively, he's been a bit inconsistent in that regard, but still better than the other options we've TRIED so far. If we're grading solely based on how good Patterson is - then I don't think anyone could justify a higher grade than a "C-." If we're grading based on my expectations coming in; I'd give him at least a solid C, because he's been roughly around what I was hoping for/expected, having improved his efficiency, but still being garbage on the boards.

This pretty much applies to Morris too; I don't think he's been any better than Patterson this year, but I didn't even think he'd be in the rotation at all -- given our supposed surplus at the 4 w/ DMo and Jones.

grading how I think they have played their role for the team so these grades will seem higher than they should be

Harden- A-. So happy we have a legit all star:) hope he keeps the turnovers down and keeps his efficiency up.

Asik- A-. So happy we have a legit center:) just wish he could catch:(

Parsons- A. So happy we have a legit white lbj:)

Lin- B---. Has games where he is a B+ and games where he is a D. Very frustrating!

Patterson- C. I really thought pat was going to make HUGE strides this year as a starter and really break out (part of me thinks it is just because he is being forced into a role that he shouldn't be)

Delfino- B+. He has made me love him this year. When he is on, he can't miss. And if you ask delfino, he has never missed a shot! Works on defense, without him on the bench we would be so much worse.

Morris- C. Was going to say D+, but I read what someone said and realized I should share their sympathies. I expected less than nothing from him this year and he has surpassed my expectations.

Smith- B+. FAR surpassed my expectations and has become a fan favorite that needs more playing time!!!!!!!! Could be an A- for his role, but doesn't get enough minutes.

Dougie- B------. he is in Morris' boat with me and has surpassed expectations. He is a solid spot up 3 pt shooter when hes open and can play some pesky d on pgs when we need it, but he doesn't do much else.

Beverly- A+++++++++++. The real star of the team we are saving until the playoffs so teams won't know to quintuple team him.

Aldrich- B. Has actually played some good minutes when called upon. Always ready. Perfect at his role as 3rd center/5th big.

Jones- incomplete:(

D-mo- incomplete:(

White- F------------. Complete tool bag, hopefully he comes in plays well in the d-league and is professional and doesnt tweet stupid shiz and makes me like him again, but it will take a lot.

Mchale- C. Annoys me alot, but could be worse. Just an average coach.

Morey- A-. Got us a star and kept cap space for a max free agent this offseason.

Good point, our opponents won't have any game film to go on! Genius Rockets FO :lol:
