3/6 - [Game 62] Rockets v. Mavericks 8:30 EST

No pictures.
Honestly, the last game was fools gold, our game doesn't travel.
What to expect from Dallas/Rockets D.
1.) Dallas is much better at home, while we're much worse on the road. Don't expect Dirk to only put up 8 points, or Mayo to be in foul trouble. Considering our inconsistent defense, expect their shooters to go wild at home.
2.) Carsisle is a very good coach. His adjustments in the Mavs plan of attack will be apparent. Expect them to rebound the ball much better, especially their frontline with Kaman, Dirk, Brand and Marion.
3.) Dallas won't turn the ball over like they did in the last meeting. Expect them to take care of the ball, and run the offense through Dirk, with their shooters. This is ultimately an offense we cannot defend.
4.) Brandan Wright is a certified Rocket killer, and at home, he should alter the Rockets shots defensively, and use his length to finish around the rim.
5.) Also expect Dallas to get some home cooking, and getting a parade to the FT line.
What to expect from the Rockets/Dallas D
1.) Last game Parsons, Lin, and Harden all combined for 20 or more. Considering Dallas D is better than it was last game, and the success they've had against Harden in the past, certainly don't expect them all to have big games, if any of em even have one.
2.) Also in the last game, DMo, and TRob were pleasant surprises defensively. In this game, we'll see why they are rookies, and that same prowess defensively cannot be expected every night.
3.) Lin had a good shooting game, expect it to be followed by a poor shooting night. Delfino also carries his cold streak for a stretch of games, and I expect no different in this one. And again, expect Beverley to continue keep coming back down to earth after torrid pace shooting the first couple games since the trade.
4.) Don't expect as much success from the line, we went there nearly 2x the Mavs the last game...that definitely won't happen in this one, and expect more missed FT's. That's what lost us the game last time when we played in Dallas.
5.) Expect to be in the game, with solid momentum, until Dallas's D tightens up, and their shooters get going because of our inconsistency in playing D when our offense isnt rolling well.
6.) Harden still is hobbled, and the only reason he scored 21 was because he made some long tough jumpers, definitely wouldnt count on that happening. Also expect Lin to miss jump-shots. Not to mention, expect a turnover filled night.
Brooks practiced with the team...but not sure if he'll play any minutes.
Also as mentioned, Harden looks a serious step slow with his injury. Don't know if we can trust him to have a big game in a big game.
Again, while Lakers are 3 games back, they're technically only 2 games back because they play us the final game of the season @ LA. And considering they play the Hornets tomorrow, that would tighten the gap to make the Lakers as close as they've ever been.
Another let down is coming. Or is it really a let down when you've seen this team lose to the Mavericks twice already and have seen they don't really build on last games performance? The only reason we won was an unreal third quarter, otherwise we had played the same poor basketball in that first half.
What sucks even more is, Dallas is not out of the picture completely in the playoff race. If we were to lose this game, it would mean nothing has really changed from a couple days ago. This would also help the Lakers get in ahead of them. This would be ruining the hopes of not only Rocket fans, but the fans of many other around the NBA that would love to see the Lakeshow miss the post-season.
Loss.
