For a 6-10 brick **** house large center, we got him for a steal. Our pace elevates his stats some what, but he's a great find at 700k. Any time you pay less than a mill for a rotation player in the NBA, it's a frigging ridiculous contract.
For a 6 point, 4.5 rebound guy at 16 minutes a game, he would have been pulling a near double double in this league 10 years ago. But he has no shot beyond 8 feet, he's not tall enough to play center full time and his face up game is pretty mediocre. He'll get boards, and the guy is hungry.
If you give him 3.3 mill a year, I'm not sure we'll match, but I'll be sad to see him go.

I dont think we will match 3.3 mill because we needed the cap space but i definitely think Smith is worth 3.3.
I think he's good now with the potential to be very good. He's a fantastic finisher already. Easily the team's best around the rim.

Ah, so this is why I was wondering whether Greg was worth 3mm / yr the other day.
I still haven't decided. Tough call. How's a solid "maybe?" work?
