Best Center Starting Lineup in League History?
So our string of great centers continues. Anyone else think we could field a full starting five of centers, better than any other team's?
PG: Olajuwon
SG: Howard
SF: Hayes
PF: Malone
C: Yao
With Mutombo and Sampson off the bench.

Hard to beat Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Mikan and Kaman
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Honestly, I'd take Elden Campbell over Mikan any day. Any mention he ever gets should have an asterisk by it denoting "for historical reference only".
The Knicks have a nice lineup, too.
Ewing, Reid, Chandler, Camby, McAdoo, Cartwright, Kurt Thomas.
Don't forget to put Kevin Willis and Chuck Hayes in our lineups!

Re: Best Center Starting Lineup in League History?
Hayes played Center his first 4 years in the league (3 when the Rockets were in San Diego and when they first arrived in Houston in 1972) before being traded to Washington where he moved to PF so he could play with Wes Unseld (the original Chuck Hayes) even though Hayes was much taller than Unseld and a much better shot blocker too.
then we he came back to Houston he was the PF next to Moses Malone for 2 years and his final year he was a bench player as Ralph took over the center spot.

What about Chuckwagon. He played Centre for the most part, I'd have him at point, and Olajuwon at SG.

The Rockets clearly have had great success at the five spot. Howard seems a little different in the way he's kind of a team cancer. I'm sure the Rockets fan are excited and rightfully so. Only time will tell if Howard will place blame on others. This past does offer a glimpse into the future.
