per WT
Several players on the Chicago Bulls have allied with Tom Thibodeau "in his never-ending battle with the front office," according to reporting from Adrian Wojnarowski.
Derrick Rose and Luol Deng are said to also carry resentments with management.
The Bulls appear willing to lose Deng in free agency, choosing Jimmy Butler's impending extension.
Those close to Thibodeau wonder if his strained partnership with "his nemesis", Gar Forman, could end his tenure before his remaining two-plus seasons on his contract are up now that Rose will begin another rehab stint.

Not sure he's a good fit with the uptempo Rockets but he's obviously a great coach.

If McHale got let go I would imagine one of the assistant coaches would get promoted. Sampson or Finch most likely.

Even at the old age, I would still do a duncan for a Dwight Howard deal in a heart beat. Of course Pop would come to Houston with Duncan

there are a lot coaches, whether currently are coaches or as a NBA analyst, that are better than Mchale right now. Even a ball boy can probably be better than Mchale. Mchale does not have any common sense in winning a basketball game. Fans and analysts look at him and could not figure out what he is actually doing in terms of his strategy to win. He got lucky because there are so many talents in the team.

more likely JVG than Thibs....and no to PJ...the guy's time has passed....plus you need 2 superstars for him to even consider it...i believe he doesn't think howard is one.

I dont think Morey would rehire JVG. It would mean he made a mistake in firing him. Thibs was only an assistant so that's Adelman's fault for not retaining him.

Thibs was an assistant for JVG

Yes but Adelman could have kept him on if he wanted to

coach is used to work with his own staff
it's almost the same for every coach
the top 3 adelman assistants are from the kings' days (one of them is his son)
he brought all of them to the t-wolves as well
jvg proposed to morey and alexander to hire thibodeau as head coach
telling them he's good enough for coach a team
rockets in a winning mode don't want to spend time with rookie coach and go with a more experience coach in adelman
you can't blame them for that
rivers being smart and hire thibodeau as his defensive specialist
problem with jvg and adelman is both are stubborn
fans complain jvg don't play rookie and yet they are ok with adelman
remember gerald wallace was all the way on the bench playing for adelman
coaches play those that fit in their system
if it wasn't for injuries i doubt adelman will give landry, patterson much playing time
one good thing about mchale is he will give playing time to young players if they show they can play
dmo play good for one game so he play him the next game
but he suck in that one so immediately back to the bench
his problem is his defense and white board drawing play during game time
i like him keep playing the bench last night when they played great
adelman will probably put the starters back in
ps
morey did not fire jvg nor adelman
their contract expired

Semantics about firing. If you were a contract worker at your job and not given a new contract then what do you tell people? Fired. Let go. Laid off. It's all the same thing really.
Chris Finch is an assistant because Morey wants him to be not because McHale does. Isn't that the main reason why Adelman was fir....not renwed?

contract expired, you are no longer needed
fired, mean you suck we don't want to see your face anymore, you still have to paid them with the guaranteed money
laid off, can't afford to pay for your service
let go, your performance did not meet our expectation
waive, buyout their contract with the money less than their guaranteed
i believe those are the term they used

Thibs is a tremendous defensive coach but the grass is not always greener on the other side, there are legitimate concerns with him such as
A. his offensive system is ugly as hell
B. he really REALLY play a lot of minutes on his best player, if your crying about McHale's 8 man rotation earlier you surely have not seen a Bulls game.
The fact is, Noah has serious foot issue, Rose has 2 catastrophic knee injury, Deng nearly DIED last year (literally). you can't just say all of that is bad luck, a lot of that is Thibs as well.
Every team would love to have him as defensive assistant , but as a HC there will be some real concern.

So whose fault was it when Yao and TMac were always hurt?

Chinese National basketball team for Yao obviously, for Tmac there's a lot to go around, the dude played 40mpg from his Orlando days to his early Rockets days, though the primary one seem to be on Doc Rivers. Yao more than anyone else, is a classic case of why you can't overplay guys. It's not just NBA minutes , he plays non stop in the off season too.
