[Game 34] Sac's @ Rox 12/31/13 6pm
Posted: Tue Dec 31, 2013 8:55 pm
Rox:
PG - Lin/Brooks
SG - Harden/Garcia
C - Howard/Motiejunas
PF - Jones/Smith (?)
SF - Parsons/Casspi
Kings:
PG - Thomas/Fredette
SG - McLemore/Thornton
C - Cousins/Gray
PF - Thompson/Acy
SF - Gay/Williams
Assuming the OKC game was an aberration, a well-rested Rox should be able to take care of this match-up handily. On the other hand, the Rox have tended this season to play down to weaker teams, so who knows? The Rox guards in particular really have to step up and make up for their terrible performance last game. Lin in particular has been playing as though he's begging McHale to bench him. I mean, he's been giving you a quarter for every dollar you give him. If you were McHale and you see Lin doing what he's been doing for the first three quarters, wouldn't you bench him?
I'm partial to Fredette, and would like to see him play some meaningful minutes. Cousins is awesome, in my opinion: for his age, especially, it's amazing how skilled he is. And McLemore's hit the ground running this season. But the fact that Toronoto has been 7-3 since they traded Gay makes one wonder how useful he is on an offensive team. In Memphis, surrounded by mostly defensive specialists, he could afford to take turns scoring with ZBo; but with the Kings, another offensive team, he may turn out to be yet another overpaid chucker.
Unless their guards go totally boneheaded again, this should be an easy win for the Rox.
