Chandler Parsons and Greg Smith both hurt themselves at practice today. Chandler hurt his knee and didn't finish. Doesn't know how bad.

Hope it wasn't the same knee that Smith just hurt. And hope Parsons is ok. He could be on crutches and McHale will still play him 40 minutes.

Well...this is awful news.

Hopefully both are OK. They've got 48 hours until the next game, but even then I hope that neither sees extended minutes if it is not necessary.

I actually Agree. We re-branded for the Yao era, I think it is about time we did it again for the Harden/D12 Era. Our new Logo could be a dominant big man screaming for the ball, and the guards jacking up another contested 3 pointer......

lol.... this is why I want to see Harden/Howard PnR teams will have to show hard on Harden hoping they can recover fast enough on a slower Howard rolling to the basket...

I wonder if you guys should have tried a more face up game with Yao... I noticed he was a very good shooter from 15 to 18 feet out...

would have created a lot more room for Tmac

makes me wonder all that weight and banging inside probably shortened his career... those team seemed to like to run a lot too

I mean if your trying to play a true half court type offence.... you basically need to walk the ball up, and slow the tempo of the game down

Unofficial news from Jonathan Feigen is Parsons will be out for the Laker game tonight. Smith says he can play.

The Rockets tried putting Yao in the high post as Adelman ran modified versions of the Princeton. He was an adept shooter, but what makes the Princeton work best is a great passer that could hit a cutter or a curler that had enough room to come up for a bit of air. Despite the fact that Yao is as fundamentally sound a basketball player that ever was, he was only an adept passer. Great he wasn't.

There were a multitude of things that shortened his career. I remember when he was playing in Asia tournaments in the early 2000s. He was a beanpole. The Rockets managements push to get him to gain weight up to 330 pounds is a large factor after his first year. He needed to do that to have a career in the NBA, but in doing so he probably shortened his overall basketball career. Furthermore, he didn't have an off season. He played on Chinese National Teams every NBA off season, may it be for the Olympics, the Asia games, the FIBA related tournaments to qualify for the Worlds. He sloughed away at his duty to his team mates on both sides of the pacific year round since he was 19. He did that for 10+ years.

He was the best center in the league, certainly one of the most offensively skilled ever. He tried to please everyone and do his duty. Yet the most popular jersey in China wasn't even his. By the time his body started showing warnings of breaking down, he was on borrowed time.

Soon after that, he was enshrined in Springfield.

It's looking like Parsons may be out again for tonight as he didn't participate in shootaround. I doubt Brewer will start again, Casspi may be the best choice if Parsons can't go tonight.

Chandler Parsons did not go through shootaround. Not a good sign about playing tonight.
