1) all defensive stats(including rebounding) were adjusted by Pace and Minutes per game.
2) all offensive stats(excluding offensive rebounding) were adjusted by Front Court Touches.
3) stats were all collected from the top 40 PGs in the first 3 months(GP>20,MPtot>800,MPpg>20).
4) Tran. & OT means Transition and other points scored(Other Throws), such as technical free throw mades.
5) I rated clutchness by PIE @ NBA.com
6) I collected transition stats from Synergy on Feb 1st to calculate those transition buckets and efficiency(eFG%).

Don't be surprised if Beverley was better than Lin in Transition cuz Lin attempted&made the 3s less and this category(Tran. & OT) doesn't account assist/to. And b4 anyone ask me.. How the hell was Raymond being a better defender than Patrick? I would just like to say: defense is too "wild" to be rating by raw stats or even advanced stats so unfortunately no stats are near perfect in that part right now. :( Because Raymond is among the worst defenders by our eye tests(no need to argue abt that). :wink: So this can only remind us, according to SportVU's Defense Impact, Felton is a great shot blocker among Point Guards and THAT'S IT.

something more:

* Overall rating = 50 + 50% * the SUM of all categories by each player's own weighted ratio-Clutchness' weighted ratio(=10.4166666666666%) is calculated by 100% * (5/48):

Updates #2

Lin is already the best fit for the Rockets...
Spoiler:
...it doesn't mean to say this organization is the best fit for Lin.

A couple of reasons:

1) No one except Ridnour, Hinrich, N.Cole, Sessions, Tony Wroten, J.Jack, and maybe Vasquez, Felton would be happy to play as a back-up to Harden&Beverley. (Even Lin is not THAT happy anyway.) And they are all overall worse than Lin in most categories.

2) Lin is one of the clutchest player in the world. He has been being labelled as “Mr 4th Q” after many games by random fans if you don't know. The Rockets need another player to step up BIG time whenever their stars are struggling.

3) Even tho Lin is not given credit for a better defender in the league, he is still quite decent in that part. All Morey needs on the pg spot is Facilitating, 3 & D, doesn't he? And you still need someone to be a OK back-up to play around 10 minutes as a shooting guard thou I think Lin is a bad match-up on the defensive end whenever he plays 2-guard.

4) Well, the cap hit maybe a problem here, but after you account these 3 reasons above, wouldn't you think that... Jeremy Lin is already the best fit right there?

Anyway, stats is always my first language. I guess I just need to post these stats below and you would find out how much a loss if the Rockets choose to dump Lin. I'm not a LOF btw. I would admit I am always a Lin fan but NOT only that. If I were, I would like him to be traded as soon as possible. :lol: My wish is that Lin can stay in the H-town longer than anybody expected to help the Rockets to contend 4 the Champs. Cuz I think he can definitely help them a lot.

All stats are Pre-All Star. I scratched 'em from the NBA.com.

Plays = FGA + FTA * 0.44 + AST + TOV
PP'd = PTS Produced = PTS + AST * 2.24
2.24 = a result of estimating point per shot assisted apart from these Top 40 pgs.
PPP = PTS Produced per Play = PP'd / Plays
DP = Dumb Plays = (TOV + (FGA-FGM)*74%) / Plays
74% = League average defensive rebounding rate in 2013/14 season.
adj +/- = +/- per 48 minutes

* All stats below are shown on "per 48 mins" basis but not adjusted by Pace cuz I don't know these players' different Pace by actual margin.

I don't know about the rest of you, but due to the image size and the format of this forum those images are cut off on the right hand side. From what I'm seeing three of the categories listed are Turnove, Reboun & Ass.

If I'm reading this chart then how am I supposed to read the "Ass" category? Are they going by size? Are they saying that Lowry has the biggest ass and Lin has the smallest?

On a totally and completely unrelated note, this reminds me to ask the Powers that Be if there is some sort of automatic-resizing feature for images. Not promising anything, just curious on my part.

On another totally and completely unrelated note, I have just decided to buy my niece a Spirograph for her upcoming birthday.

I think they're saying that Lowry gets the most asses.

Defensive Impact: Statistics measuring the impact a player has on defense, including blocks, steals and protecting the rim, which measures the opponent's field goal percentage at the rim while it is being defended. Rim protection is defined as the defender being within five feet of the basket and within five feet of the offensive player attempting the shot.

just check these stats ranking and you would know why Lin had been great at it...I think he is the big part of Rockets' help D and transition D this season.

btw...I kinda fixed it. No more "ass" :lol:

I suppose there has been some heavy editing?

Thanks! Quite enlightening! What is "close" btw?

Interesting, Felton scores pretty high on defense...

Wondering wassup with Lin's rebounding and transition, seems like a coaching decision.

I think it can be. Assi is also valid, in my humble opinion.

Can you put Raymond Felton and Patrick Beverley in there just for reference? Since those two are the most controversial players when people judge Lin's performance

There is no controversy regarding Felton. Dude sucks donkey balls. he went from being the worst pg in the league to being below average, then back to being the worst pg in the league again.

btw, this thread found its way to the Knicks board. From your perspective, how would you feel about Asik/Lin for Chandler/Shumpert/HardawayJr/Felton?

This is the best type of graph. The closer you are to 10 the more elite you are at that particular category. The more round your graph the more all rounder you are.

From the 1st chart, you can see that Dragic is a more well rounded PG with some elite skills such as drives and tran.&ot. Dragic is not a defensive PG. Lin is uneven with off the charts drives and defense with decent free throw but needs lots of work on rebounds, turnover, pull up and close. He is quite clutch. If Lin work on rebounds, close, pull up and turnovers, he will be a more well rounded PG. Lowrie has a flat profile with strengths on less turnovers, decent assists, excellent catch and shoot, pretty good defense but not clutch.

Dragic's chart is the best while Lin's shows he has areas that need to develop.

I don't think Knicks will trade away THJr after last Friday night's Rising Stars game.

Lin was a good rebounder in NY. I notice with the Rockets Lin's rebound numbers have dipped a lot. I think it has something to do with Lin being tasked to lead the break and push the pace, he looks to be in position closer to halfcourt a lot of times for this reason which will hurt rebound numbers. The pull up vs catch and shoot surprises me, in NY and his first season in Houston I think those numbers were reversed. He was terrible at catch and shoot and everyone was saying he shoots better off the dribble.
