Well now that we know we didn't trade our first round pick for Rondo or acquire any firsts for Asik. It looks like the Rockets have the 24th pick if things stay the same standings wise.

We've had the 24th pick four times in draft history. Two great picks. Two busts.
1971 - Mike Newlin
1993 - Sam Cassell
1997 - Rodrick Rhodes
2005 - Luther Head

I think Daryl should pick Thanasis Antetokounmpo to back up Harden and Parsons.
He's only 6'7" , 215lbs and 21 years old so he's shorter AND older than his brother Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Like Glen RIce Jr last year he is currently playing in the DLeague instead of playing in Europe or the NCAA.
He has played in 35 DLeague games and has started 28 of them.
9.9 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.6 apg. Needs to improve his shooting percentages and cut down his turnovers.

no idea i just pick those senior in late 1st and early 2nd prospect

OK so Portland, Houston and Miami all tied for the same regular season record.
So they had to do tiebreakers for draft position. Portland beat Houston but we beat Miami

so

24. Portland (belongs to Charlotte)
25. Houston
26. Miami

We also have
42. New York (belongs to Houston)
54. Houston

The last time the Rockets had the 25th pick we selected Nicolas Batum and traded him to Portland for draft rights to Donte Green (28) and Joey Dorsey (33). We then traded Green for Ron Artest, who helped us get back into the playoffs. Of course looking back giving up Batum was a mistake.

NBADraft.net has us selecting DeAndre Daniels, a 6'8 SF from UCONN
DraftXpress has us selecting Elfrid Payton, a 6'3 PG from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette

So we lost to the Blazers but beat the Heat! (anti-jinx)

I would draft a PG, the class is pretty deep and good, and you are not going to give playing time to any rookie in the frontcourt.

Lin is out, either this summer or next one, so you will eventually need another Guard.

Payton is a terrific defender, he is similar to Beverley, but taller and longer, but he can't shot right now, I will go after anoter type of PG, more 6th man like, Napier could be good, similar player to DJ Augustin, worse creator but better shooter/defender, Ennis is less of an scorer but a better playmaker, worse defender though, he could fall til 25, Micic and Andrew Harrison are promising big PG that can play some SG, Micic is a pretty thoughtful, high IQ guard, Jason Kidd-like, Harrison is erratic and need a lot of good coaching, no good with McHale.

Jahii Carson and Nick Johnson woul've been 1st rounders in any other draft, I like Johnson a lot for the Rockets, defensive minded guard that can do a little bit of everything, great athlete, though, can hit shots and pass, not a great creator at PG but a role player, similar to Delonte West without being crazy.
Carson is a bullet, Ty Lawson style, but even smaller, special less strong, but he can really score the ball.

Getting a combo forward in the 2nd round is really feasible too, Perry Ellis from Kansas, Carl Landry type of guy, DeAndre Daniels, Cleanthony Early, athletic comboFs, can shoot the 3ball and defend, not much of creators with the ball, Ioannis Papapetrou, ex-Longhorn, playing in Greece, kind of poor man's Parsons actually.

That'll be my goal, getting a combo guard and a combo forward,

Warren/McDaniels/Grant/Saric are the Forwards in the 1st that could be in that range, most of them look to be out earlier, so it'll be more difficult, that's why I though about getting the Guard in the 1st, forward in the 2nd.

Shabazz Napier+DeAndre Daniels will be a rock solid draft for Houston.
Dario Saric+Nick Johnson will be robbery, best case scenario for you guys is probably those two falling to your picks.

I wouldn't call Luther Head a bust. Sure he sucked as a starter, but he was a very viable third stringer and spot 2nd stringer. The real issue he had with us was that he was playing A LOT more than the 10-15 MPG he should have been playing, and regularly started games.

12 games. 24% shooting on 9.7 attempts per playoff game.

Head was a good shooter.

Naaah. Wasn't his fault he was used as 7-deep rotation player in the 2007 playoffs. He was quite literally ALL WE HAD. I blame Dawson.
2008 his 11 mpg was a lot more reasonable, but he never should've gotten anything but splinters that year, either.

While Head wasn't quitecompletely incapable, he was never a viable long term contributor, keeping his position almost entirely due to lack of better options and his cheap rookie contract. He's sucked his entire career, but isn't incompetent, which made him a valuable (to us) fill-in/placeholder. Head didn't decline in skill, he declined in usage due to his lack of skill.

Don't really care... was only stating that he doesn't suck at handling the ball, that he's far better than Head, and that comparing him to allstars isn't fair, regardless of where he's actually at.

Yeah I think he's clean now after moving to Canada

He actually has all 3 of his sons in the 2014 draft. Senior Mitch WIggins Jr from Southeastern University. Senior Nick Wiggins from Wichita State and the famous freshman Andrew from Kansas.
