Lowe: Patrick Beverley Experience

Zach Lowe gave Patrick Beverley a little love in his latest Grantland article:
http://grantland.com/features/the-post-deadline-nba/9. The Patrick Beverley Experience
Apologies to everyone in Oklahoma City, but watching this guy play lately has been electric. He’s a one-man press capable of pickpockets anywhere on the court, he’s maybe too confident in his ability to go chest-to-chest on defense without fouling, and he’s been knocking down his 3s over the last couple weeks.
That part of his game has been a bit of a disappointment. He’s shooting only 34.7 percent from 3-point range, slightly below the league’s average, and a very disappointing 32.9 percent on the easier corner 3s. But he’s hit at least half his 3s in six of his last 10 games. He won’t keep that up, but if he hones his 3-point shot into a slightly finer weapon, the Rockets have a very dangerous player
The Face of Mountain Dew is starting to get some recognition for his solid play!

Bev over the past few games has been getting a lot of praise/recognition. I think it was Webber & Kerr who were going crazy about his game. I guess the secret is out. With everyone focused on White LBJ's contract in 2015 you guys think Bev will be here after next year?
I mean after all he is a Houston Rockets pg and its only a matter of time. well you know...

Bev is my fav competitor at pg since Sura my heart couldn't take it.

If Asik is getting traded, I would think he'll either be tied to Motiejunas or Lin.
It's an interesting scenario for both Asik and Lin. Both are players too good to be on the bench, and everyone knows it. Morey's price is too high, yet he's going to get lowballed for either. It's getting to the point where he has to recognizes that it's ok to get burned sometimes, because you'll get better deals in the long run.

Bill Simmons and Morey are pals or secret lovers or something.
This is an interesting interview between the two of them 2 years ago during the height of Linsanity (March 2012)
Morey really liked Lowry apparently.

Morey has been complimentary of Lowe on 790. Usually I think he's a little annoying.

I doubt that Morey moves either one just to make a deal. He's not going to take a low-ball offer (unless he's just trying to clear cap room this summer for whatever reason).
I think that the next realistic window to trade either guy is the next mid-season trade deadline. At that point the teams acquiring either player will get the benefit of their low cap hit with a majority of their salary already paid. Unless that happens I don't see either guy being dealt before their contracts expire in 2015.

Back on Bev - saw one of his Mountain Dew billboards on Fountainview between 59 and Richmond. This one is in Spanish.

Yeah I've seen both English and Spanish billboards around the city. Good for him.
Anyone think Bev looks like Lamorne Morris, aka "Winston" from New Girl?

Yup that's what I've been saying all along. Unless a team is really desperate for a center or scoring PG around the trade deadline next year and offer something of interest I think they will run out their contracts here. Morey isn't going to dump them for nothing since they provide needed depth, and trading just one of them doesn't clear enough room for a 3rd max player, he'd need to trade both. They are both unrestricted FAs after next year too, so there isn't much incentive for the acquiring team unless they are confident they will resign.

HAHA yeah, New Girl is one of my favorite shows. I was watching the latest episode last night, and I thought the same thing
