Which FA should Rockets pursue?

Post#1 » by manun » Thu Feb 27, 2014 4:53 pm

After seeing Hamilton light it up from down town I was thinking Fredette would be awesome as back up for Harden. If the buy out becomes as predicted I would love him here for 25 minutes (he would play a JJ Redick role), but I guess he wants to get his next contract. Granger would be pretty good to but hes a wild card as no one knows how he will play out (former allstar but now?).

D-12 / Asik/ D-mo
Jones / D-mo / Parson
Parson / Hamilton
Harden / Fredette / Lin
Beverly / Lin / Fredette

2nd unit with:

Asik
D-mo
Hamilton
Freddette
Lin

I like!

Don't think Fredette has been bought out yet. The deadline for them to be playoff eligible is Saturday.

Fredette sucks. All he does is shoot and nothing else and he is streaky at that. 25 minutes to him is laughable. Highly unlikely that he gets any minutes

I think Camby would add some much needed depth at C as long as he can get healthy. We could use some depth at PG as well with Brooks gone, unless the team thinks Canaan is ready. Not sure Fredette is worth the roster spot, at least until we see what Canaan can do.

We have to cut someone to sign someone.

Omri Casspi? (next season is unguranteed)

Greg Smith? Troy Daniels?

Garcia's contract next year is a player option (so I'm guessing it's fully guaranteed?)

Would hate to cut Covington and he blows up for someone else like James Johnson.

We are reportedly one of the teams that Granger is talking to.

That would be a freaking godsend if it happens!

Granger would be awesome! If he could play 70% of before it would be great, if he can hit the 3 and play good D as stretch 4 it would be awesome.

Only if McHale is fired. Toronto would probably do a S&T for Lin.

McHale said on 790 he'd like another big with Smith down. My guess is Camby gets added.

yep...he also said if smith decides to get surgery on that knee, he is out for the rest of the year for sure...chances are, the rox will recommend that smith get surgery, so i can see camby returning to rox. i wonder if the rockets get some kind of injury exception from the nba if smith is out so that some of the $ will be given to camby.

Another possible FA is Ben Gordon, do ppl still think he can play? I havent heard anything of him since detroit and he sucked there... but he can shoot thats for sure.

They will waive Smith to add Camby. They can bring back Smith next year

OK Well Granger just chose the Clippers. Doesn't seem fair for them to get two quality players for nothing.
