Post#1 » by basketballrock » Thu Apr 24, 2014 3:40 pm

we need james harden to show up in the playoffs or we might need to bench

i heard that 94% of teams that win 2-0 will win series

i am nervous but i think rockets will be win the 6% chance

We have a chance if Harden shows up and we're able to contain LMA.

Doubt it. I really the departure of Sampson has hurt this team greatly. I think that was when the team started to struggle up to now

Wait there, we're talking about losing the first two at home, that's a different animal:

http://guardianlv.com/2014/04/chicago-b ... ve-talent/
The only three teams that have ever come back to win a playoff series after losing the first two games at home were the 1968-69 Lakers–who would eventually lose in the NBA finals to Bill Russell’s dynastic Celtics, the 1993-94 NBA champion Houston Rockets, and the 2004-2005 Dallas Mavericks who lost to Phoenix in the second round. However, those teams boasted either hall of fame, or future hall of fame scorers such as Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Hakeem Olajuwon, or Dirk Nowitzki.

Harden and Dwight are not one of those. The only chance would be Linsanity: start Lin and TT; let Lin play loose and not be worrying. But against a well coached cohesive unit with two hot stars like them, I just don't see that happening either. So......I'll give you 0.5%.

No Playoffs are different than the regular season.

Harden looks like someone just trying to draw fouls. Kinda gets old.

Houston is missing something to compete and beat playoff teams.
But the games are fairly close.

Aldridge (Portland's best) >>> Howard (Houston's best)
Stotts >>> McHale

It's as simple as this, and we've been saying this all year long, and right all year long!
* Since 1985, Jeremy Lin became one of 15 players to have scored at least 20 points, seven assists and a steal for six games in a row, including 136 points in 5 starts beating out Iverson, Jordan and O'Neal :D

Probably the worst idea ever on this board.

You mean that guy who did the actual coaching of the Rockets? :-)

Granted, sure we had Hakeem, put Portland is not Phoenix Suns, they were much better than the current TrailBlazers, but we were the better team. Also Dallas was better than our 05 team, since Yao n TMac had no help what so ever, even tho we all know that series was horribly officiated against us.

All Im sayin in those series, better team won, now are we better than Portland? Lotta people thought so.
We shall find out tonight

Anybody can win the series. We've had 3 games and they were all down to the last second. No one has the clear advantage over the other.

We were never going to stop LMA. We didn't stop him in the regular season and we haven't stopped him in the play offs. The key to winning was Harden. At the beginning of the series, we all thought Harden would dominate, because Portland didn't have a lock down wing defender that could stop him. However, Harden has been struggling, because he's not getting the foul calls on the drive during the regular season. He's settling for long jumpers and pull up 3s. That's why his efficiency is so low and why defenders can be more aggressive on defense against him.

Unfortunately, I don't see Harden recovering in this series. They're not going to call those fouls in the post season. We're going to have to rely on Howards post up game and actual set plays, which McHale is not good at. It's actually up to our role players to step up and win us this series. Lin, Bev and Parsons need to shoulder some of the offense creation to make up for Harden being double teamed.

Half right.

I still say Aldridge is vastly overrated. This series aside.

Having TT has made LMA come back down to earth. Stubborn Mchale finally had to give in...he had no choice really. Tjones just isn't there yet.

I like the adjustment of having Asik guard LA. For a big guy, Asik moves his feet well and is longer than TJ so that he can at least make it harder for LA to see the basket. Another thing is that Harden still hasn't found his shot. Yeah, we were lucky to win, but it's not as if Harden was on. He still shot only 30%. If he can shoot 45% I like our chances.
